I have a conspiracy theory - I’ve twice had someone (not a well off car owning type) refer to the Jimny as a “Thar ki copy”. And both times I’ve told them it’s a Gypsy, thinking that that would clarify. But even that didn’t seem to ring a bell. I think that a lot of lay people genuinely think that Maruti has made an all new vehicle hoping to match the Thar, and have failed miserably since.. they’ve ended up making something small.

Is the Maruti Finance discount some kind of NBFC providing loans in house for Maruti cars ? Or does it just mean that on availing vehicle loan (probably from their preferred banks/financial institutions), this additional discount would be applicable ?

I miss the road-tax component here. Am I correct? If that is the case, the on-road price will be pushed by another ~2L (at least in Bangalore) which makes it 14L OTR.

Interested to know more details about the Zeta AT. Pls. share if you have any. The dealer I spoke to did mention about a 1.5 lakh discount (June offer). But not the Smart finance part. Also, I thought TCS is calculated as a % of the Ex. Showroom price!!

It's around 3L off on on-road prices for ZETA MT/AT.
Roughly around 11.7 for ZETA MT and 12.9 for ZETA AT Delhi.
Looks like a clearance sale before Thar 5D. Incredible offers.

9.99 must be for Zeta Manual normally priced at 12.74 lakhs ex-showroom.They probably calculated a 2.75 lakh discount on that to get to 9.99 notionally.

If Nexa corrects the list price to 9.99, one can save significantly on the road tax in many states, as it would go under the 10.lakh mark. But most likely, it'll be offered as a discount on the on-road price, which means one still has to pay the higher road tax.

The Maruti Suzuki Jimny has always been a slow-seller since its launch in June 2023. Maruti had intended to sell over 5,000 units of the SUV each month, however, sales dropped to three digit figutes within a few months after its debut. Sales are down to just 1,334 units in year 2024 (till May), these are alarming numbers for Maruti.

Now, Maruti Suzuki is offering heavy discounts on the Jimny this month. It includes benefits worth up to ₹ 2.5 lakh. Customers can avail of a consumer discount of ₹ 1,00,000 on the Jimny. The carmaker is also offering a retail cashback of ₹ 75,000 for MT and ₹ 80,000 for AT at the moment. Customers availing loan through Maruti Suzuki Smart Finance is eligible to get another ₹ 1.0 lakh discount. All these together makes the Jimny MT and Jimny AT, cheaper by ₹ 2,75,000 and ₹ 3,30,000 respectively. This in effect, brings down the ex-showroom price tag of Jimny Zeta MT to just ₹ 9.99 lakhs.



The Jimny is available in two variants – Zeta and Alpha with prices starting at Rs 12.74 lakh (ex-showroom). It is powered by a 1.5-litre K-series engine that produces 103 BHP @ 6,000 rpm and 134.2 Nm @ 4,000 rpm. The engine is paired with either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed torque-converter automatic.

Multiple discounts I see from past couple of weeks for Jimny, yet when I check with my nearby NEXA contact he keeps saying no stock and discounts are only for cars in stock (if any dealer has it)
They just demotivate saying waiting period of 4-5 months (looks like dealership itself is not interested in Jimny sales)

Lovely little car and great buy for may be 12-14lacs OTR
Best option for a family of 2, a weekend off-road freak and of course for city chores - sadly I fall under none of these categories as for city / office commutes I mostly prefer my bike.
But would always remain a fan of Jimny and would like to have it as a secondary car one day if my finances permit and the car is still in Sale.
