The insurance is approximately 3% of the IDV + 3rd party, so for 15L vehicle it should be around 45K, if ex showroom is taken. Normally the IDV is 90% of the exshowroom price after 3 months. The calculations for Zero Depreciation is slightly differen and will be a few thousand more.

Of course there are a lot of discounts possible in insurance which in this case may be 5k or more.

I paid 32k for 1+3 zero dep. + RTI insurance for my Jimny (HDFC). IDV is 95% of the ex showroom price (14.14 Lakh). They will definitely try to inflate insurance to compensate for the discounts !

Re: Maruti Jimny Thunder Edition launched at Rs 10.74 lakh | Jimny is 2-lakh rupees cheaper now

Checked out the quotes from the local Nexa dealer here in Mohali for Alpha MT, all they are offering is the max 2 lac discount being offered by Maruti itself and no extra dealer discount whatsoever. Says they do not have any in their stock and they will be placing the order with Maruti once I book and in case the vehicle is not allocated and delivered by 31st, the discount stands withdrawn! Further the quotes of Insurance also seems highly inflated compare to what I have seen here in quotes shared by few members.

However took this opportunity to take a test drive, the vehicle was an AT. I owned a 2018 Gypsy which was purchased new and now sold sometime back ( In anticipation of Jimny Launch ) hence my expectations were set basis my experience of Gypsy. The Jimny is everything which a Gypsy should have been to begin with, the ride was phenomenal, ergonomics spot on, interiors are typical Maruti standards and the power offered by engine seemed sufficient for my use case. I drive Delhi - Chandigarh almost every alternate month and rarely ever drive above 90-100 plus the speed limit which is anyways 90 for the most part. IMHO this can very easily serve as a primary car for a small family. Auto box seems to be ok but I have decided to stick with a manual.

Sorry, I'm even more convinced the Jimny should've launched as a 3 door with an on road price below 10 lakhs after seeing these! The 3 door is perfect for Indian city roads. Looks absolutely gorgeous and well proportioned.

Thanks. What I heard on this thread was that dealers are giving significant discounts above and over 1 Lac discount. Can you please share how much discount you got above and over 1 L.

Anyone else who would like to share - what is the best offer we can get. As I am looking forward to booking, in case you can't share openly, please feel free to message.

Sure, happy to list down the price breakdown.

Ex showroom - 14,89,000
insurance - 35,000
RTO (HR) - 1,22,350
fastag - 1610
extended warranty - 35,306
TCS - 14,890
Total - 16,98,156

Factory discount - 1,00,000
additional discount - 13,156

Final onroad price - 15,85,000

Insurance is some partnership between digit and maruti, has all the usual add ons like zero dep, return to invoice, rsa, etc. They matched the quote I was getting from ICICI and Acko so didn't push further.

I got accessories worth 17k (as per dealer) for free, those were the full spare wheel cover, mats and mud flaps.
I've also been told that I will get the Thunder edition accessory kit for free whenever the dealer receives it.

I felt the dealer could have been pushed for another 25k discount, I didn't since I was in a rush and they had a white colour ready in stock.

I completely agree with you on this point, but aren't we introducing a new variant called the Thunder Edition? The ex-showroom price for this model is 10.74. Therefore, I assume that by January 2024, this variant will be added to the Vahan portal.
Dealers have to follow this pricing!

You are right. If Maruti formally publishes a lower list price and the same is uploaded to RTOs via MORTH portal then the tax will apply on that. However, from all the updates published in this thread, the discounts seem to be more as a cash discount and hence wondering if they yet have a published "lower' price for the Thunder Edition.

From the examples below, the tax is still to be calculated on the earlier price and 2 L discount is applied as a discount on final price.

Maruti Suzuki Jimny sales set to cross 4000 units in December, as demands kicks in after the price cut.

Yes, looks like the price cut worked for the Jimny and many people who cancelled earlier will be or should be getting their Jimny's now.

It won't show in the numbers since most of these sales are at the retail end and already included in the reported dealer dispatches in the previous months.

What might be perfect may not be practical for many, example is the MG Comet, a three door Jimny would not have even sold this much imho.

Re: Maruti Jimny Thunder Edition launched at Rs 10.74 lakh | Jimny is 2-lakh rupees cheaper now

I have booked a Thunder Edition, Zeta MT.
The dealer has offered me a discount on the On Road Price and not on the Ex Showroom Price.

The ex showroom is 12.79 for this as they say. And there has been no confirmation from any of the dears that I talked to. Hence, the on road price for 12.79 is 14.18. They have given a discount of 2 lakh making my on road price 12.18.

Price Breakdown
Ex Showroom - 1273842
Insurance - 36234
RTO - 67564 (Assam, Jorhat, AS-03)
Extended Warranty - 27824
TCS - 10689
My Nexa - 885
Fast Tag - 500

Total - 14,18,000
Discount - 2,00,000
On Road - 12,18,000

I also have a doubt on the TCS being charged, the TCS should be included in the Ex showroom price isn't it?

Anyone looking for a Jimny, in Mumbai, do let me know. I have just been told they can match the best offers across the country for the Alpha. Zeta seems out of stock.

Re: Maruti Jimny Thunder Edition launched at Rs 10.74 lakh | Jimny is 2-lakh rupees cheaper now

Nexa Bangalore has relatively few vehicles. Only 9 vehicles in all of Bangalore is what I was informed this morning.
They say the prices will potentially rise in Jan.
The official offer is 1.5 flst discount plus 25K accessories.
Also for MY 2024 the wait period will be 3 months.
But upon negotiation the offer comes to approx. about 15.30 ish for Alpha MT and 16.70 ish for Alpha AT. On road.
These special offer based prices vary from Dealer to Dealer.
In my experience, by Far the Nexa Hosur Road guys are the most proactive and most helpful.
All the others seemed disinterested and unhelpful in my interactions. Maybe they are getting a lot of ‘fishing’ queries and relatively fewer real enquiries which has made them lose interest.

The Maruti True Value chaps also really low ball the value of the exchange car.
