Mercedes-Benz is planning to launch two new models in India this festive season. The carmaker has confirmed that the GLE facelift and AMG C43 will be introduced on November 2, 2023.

Mercedes-Benz GLE facelift:

The latest iteration of the GLE gets several changes both on the exterior as well as inside the cabin. The SUV features redesigned LED headlights and tail lights, reworked bumpers and new alloy wheels.

Inside, the GLE facelift gets a new multifunction steering wheel with touch-sensitive controls, an updated MBUX infotainment system and an improved version of the Distronic Plus active cruise control system.

In the global markets, Mercedes offers the GLE with three powertrain options equipped with a 48V mild-hybrid system. These include the base GLE 300d with 265 BHP / 550 Nm, the GLE 450d with 362 BHP / 750 Nm and the GLE 450 powered by a 376 BHP / 500 Nm petrol engine. Mercedes also offers two plug-in hybrid variants: GLE 400e and GLE 350de.

Mercedes-AMG C43:

The AMG C43 uses a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine paired with an electric turbocharger and a 48V mild-hybrid system. It packs 397 BHP and 500 Nm and is paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission and the 4Matic all-wheel drive system.

The AMG C43 is a sportier version of the C-Class. It will compete with the BMW M340i and the Audi S5 Sportback in the Indian market.

I saw the launch livestream briefly and was amused to see the CMD tout features like Keyless-Go and Climatised (Ventilated) Seats which were glaring misses in the earlier iterations but have ubiquitously found their way in C and D segment vehicles on offer in our market. The pricing is ambitious but the recent uptake of costlier models in their lineup could have tilted the balance in favour of a liberal mark-up! I remember how the GLS X167 had an introductory ex-showroom price of 99 lakhs in 2020... It almost seems like a bargain considering it is dearer by 40 lakhs today.

1cr is the new 50L in the luxury car market. I distinctly remember the previous gen GLE(Or maybe it was yet called ML then) was launched at 55L

I am glad MBIL dropped the LWB marketing gimmick this time which they used when this GLE generation was launched just a few years ago.
They wanted to ride on the LWB success of the E-class, which truly is a LWB unlike the GLE.
MBIL argued it by saying it is LWB because it is "longer" when compared to the previous gen GLE

Interesting how Mercedes-Benz brought the GLE 450d and didn't stick to the 400d engine that it previously shared with the GLS. Does anyone know of plans to include this new engine variant with the new E-Class and the new GLS? Also, does anyone know why they've opted to do this?

Seems like they matched the price exactly to X5.
What does everyone think? is it a value add over the pre-facelift GLE which was about 5L lesser?

Truly ambitious with pricing, and will get away with it. Having just got off the car search wagon where I had considered the GLC, i am surprised to see the screen console being a floating horizontal unit, as against the vertical and 'tabletish' ones found in GLC and C class.

Oh that diesel is sweet! Internet tells 5.4 to the ton. Thats very impressive.

Benz has an upper hand over x530d and hopefully it’ll push Bmw to bring in x540d.
Bit subjective, but I find Gle more gorgeous than facelift x5.

Also, I think the horizontal benz display is better than the tabloid display, ergonomically and aesthetically speaking.

Phew. A Volvo XC90 and an Audi Q7 for the price of GLE and X5 !!

A correction, the BMW xline is lower and msport is expensive, the pic indicates that incorrectly.

One thing with engines, the X5 has pertol and diesel, but between xline and msport, they dont change the engines. But in GLE, 300d has lower spec than the 450d. X5 for its size was an unbelievable rocket.

So, until yesterday evening, in Kerala, the on road price of the GLE300d was Rs. 96,06,581 with total ex-showroom as Rs. 1,19,36,380.
However, today's total ex-showroom is Rs. 97,36,400 and on-road is Rs. 1,20,97,047.

The change is attributed to the calculation of CESS. It was calculated as 20% yesterday and is instead updated to 22% today.

Made me wonder for a bit. Posting this just in case it helps someone else figure out why the prices increased, in case they were looking.
