Mahindra issues a service action for the XUV700, Scorpio-N & Thar

An official service action is issued for the XUV7OO, the Scorpio-N & the Thar (VIN-wise) for replacing the flex plate bolt, torque convertor bolt & propeller shaft bolts. It comes as an entire set of bolts (around 11-12 in number).

Contact your local CoTeks/ASCs for more info on this.

Blimey! I'm at the service centre for the previous recall regarding the insulation. Nobody here has an idea. Perhaps it will take a day or 2 for them to have details. The website doesn't mention any more recalls for my VIN (700 Petrol Auto)

I checked with my VIN and the mahindra site says mine is good as my Thar DAT is a 2023 manufactured.

Mahindra should be more clear on the manufacturing years so that it causes less confusion.

Yes, this is for Automatics as it involves TC bolts

If the flex plate and torque converter bolts indeed need replacing, then this is a very critical recall. The flex plate connects the crank to the torque converter.

This job is going to involve removal of the gearbox to the best of my knowledge. Although recalls are a welcome move by manufacturers, I would be genuinely worried about having the entire GB downed at a local ASC for getting the bolts replaced, that too on my brand new Thar/XUV 700. Mahindra needs to tighten QC instead of issuing recalls time and again.

Looking at the magnitude of the issue and how critical the components to be replaced are, I think this is an unforgivable QC miss.

ASC is blissfully unaware as always and the website does not throw up any other service recall for my VIN except the one for the Wiring Loom (taken care of that in last week’s visit to the ASC already).

Knowing there was a recall for drive shaft bolts, i went to the SC and got it checked and they confirmed there was a recall for shaft bolts and got them replaced the next day, 8 of them. Not aware of the other 2 things though…will walk in tomorrow and get it checked…

Re: Mahindra issues a service action for the XUV700, Scorpio-N & Thar

I contacted service centre as well as Mahindra's customer care no.

Both have confirmed that for XUV700, the wiring loom is the only recall active right now and no bolt related recall information is present with them.

I checked mahindra website for my vin, it says that i have a recall but doesn't mention which recall- the wiring loom or this one..

I already got wiring loom recall done.

Not sure for this vehicle, but on my Jeep Cherokee it can be done very easily without removing the engine. Jeep provide special inspection covers for this purpose!

Any mention of the reason for this replacement of bolts - quality issue? issues raised by customers? bolt length issue? change of bolt material? etc

Which ASC was this, when did you visit and which car model was this for? I just got done with wiring loom recall for my XUV 700 (AX7 P AT) a couple of days back and there was no recall for drive shaft bolts. Checked again over the phone today, still no information at their end.
