Strange decisions! |
They haven't ditched the CVT.
The autoshift lineup is [AMT+ 72hp Nonturbo] or the [CVT+100hp Turbo] drivetrain combos.
They have added the AMT to the nonturbo engines to expand the reach of the auto gearbox across all variants in the Magnite range. Remember that even the sister model from Renault, the Kiger also doesn't get an AMT on the lower models. AMT starts from RXT and above.
On another thought, the base XE manual retails at 6.72L on road Delhi. Add to that 70-80K onroad for the AMT, and the Magnite XE EZ-Shift would have an expected on road price of 7.55L in Delhi. That puts it at even lesser entry point that a 4star rated Tiago XTA AMT @ 7.85L. So people can now get an auto gearbox sub-4m crossover at the price even lesser than most auto gearbox hatchbacks.
