Skoda's upcoming compact SUV and its sibling from VW (for Brazil) will be based on Skoda Fabia and will be the SUV version of Skoda's Fabia.
- VW's Compact SUV to be launched in Brazil by Q2 2025, while the Skoda's Compact likely to debut at the BMS and go on sale in India in March-25
- The VW's/Skoda's SUV to inherit designs from the European hatchback Skoda Fabia, with the right to unprecedented LED headlights shared with those of the restyled Nivus.
-VW246 (and Skoda's?) Project will also have an interior with elements from the Skoda Fabia.
-All seats and panels will come from it, with possible adaptations to the reality of the Brazilian market.
-The central panel will have very little of what we see in other national products of the MQB A0 platform, such as Polo, Virtus, the Nivus itself and the T-Cross.
-Even with the low-cost proposal and with a predominance of rigid plastic, by taking advantage of the base of the Skoda Fabia's dashboard, the A0 SUV will have a more creative interior finish than its platform brothers. For example, its dashboard will be lower and more minimalist, leaving the instrument panel more prominent and the multimedia center entirely detached.
- Expect air vents with a circular edge, similar to those of the Fabia. The steering wheel will be the same as the Nivus itself, as well as the air conditioning controls.
- The cluster must be 8 or 10.25 inch digital, depending on the version. The multimedia system will be the well-known 10.1-inch VW Play.
- The parking brake will always be manual.
-The side panels will also come from the Skoda Fabia, but adapted to the more conservative public in Brazil, with more sober lines and even interior door handles.
- The seats will be another Skoda part, with a split option at the rear.
-The trunk will be an asset of the project with a volume close to 400 liters.
-In addition to the new headlights, it will have an ascending beltline with better demarcated creases on the side and pronounced fenders, which brings its look closer to that of European models from the German manufacturer, such as the new Tiguan and the T-Roc.
- The shapes of the side doors, however, will be another link with the Skoda Fabia.
- The headlights will be shared with the Nivus, but will have a different internal arrangement, with a split in the top LED tab and a discreet darkened mask at the base.
- The front bumper will bring wide cutouts, while the raised and concave hood will give the model the look of robustness that Volkswagen needs to call it an SUV.
- At the rear, the pair of taillights will be a single piece on each side, with no lighting extended to the trunk lid. A high-gloss black ruler will run the entire width of the load compartment to connect the parts, but without a light or reflective function.
- A0 SUV will have exactly the same wheelbase as the Polo: 2,57 meters. In the other dimensions, we will be about 4.13/4.0 meters long, 1.75 m wide and 1.60 m high.
- Its engine will always be the 1.0 TSI turbo flex three-cylinder with 12 valves and direct fuel injection from the EA211 family, in two calibrations.
- In the tamest one, there are 109 hp of power with gasoline and 116 hp with ethanol, with 16,8 kgfm of torque with any fuel. The transmission, here, is a five-speed manual (MQ200) or a six-speed automatic (AQ160-6F).
-In the top variant, called 200 TSI, there are 116 hp of power with gasoline and 128 hp with ethanol, and 20,4 kgfm of torque regardless of the fuel applied, always with the six-speed automatic transmission (AQ200).
