Re: Which Car Manufacturer combo is in your household AND would you change it?

Japanese/Czech combo here...

1. 2017 Honda Jazz CVT - for work and hassle free city commute.
2. 2021 Skoda Superb - for road trips and special occasions.

It's amazing how easily the Superb drives for a car its size, even in the city.

Re: Which Car Manufacturer combo is in your household AND would you change it?

I've always been a Japanese and German car lover. My first was a Cedia Sports, so it is nice to see The_Rainmaker's garage above. I handed over my Cedia to a friend last month otherwise, I would have included it here. The second part of this question is a definite no, I've arrived at this combination after months/years of thought! A lot of changes have happened in the recent past here.

Main car: 2014 F15 X5 30d.
Replaced a 2017 Camry Hybrid, and has been a great decision. The X5 goes everywhere with aplomb and is fun enough on the highway and around. As a daily driver driven car for the family, it is right up there with the best in terms of luxury and space.

My personal daily driver: 2022 Mini Cooper SE
Replaced a 2017 Mini Cooper JCW with the same car but with an electric heart! The SE is more fun, IMHO and is far more comfy as a daily. Whisper quiet when needed, and a total rowdy in terms of instant torque. There is no other EV of this weight class and distribution around. The JCW was super fun and was easily my most loved car, but this SE feels even more like a go-kart than that. Also it is a hoot to drive in city traffic. This one is my office commute, our dog's favorite car, and has even done a whole trip up to Lonavla and back!

The indulgence: 2011 987.2 Cayman S
Replaced a 2018 B9 S5. The S5 taught me a lot of things about what a true performance car should be, and the biggest learning was this: it is not about how fast it can go, how it makes you feel. This 987.2 is perceivably slower than that S5 in a straight line, but my god it feels good to be in. Every single part of this car is an experience and an indulgence. FWIW, I love The_Rainmaker's 987.2 and it was an inspiration for this. This is nearly the same spec as his, but without the sports chrono and with an LSD, IPE Competition Plenum, IPD Sports Exhaust and headers. The gorgeous extended Terracotta leather interior and Porsche Design steering wheel is the icing on the cake.

Re: Which Car Manufacturer combo is in your household AND would you change it?

My family has a Japanese and Korean combo.

2019 Toyota Innova Crysta GX 2.8 AT for highway duties and a 2017 Hyundai Grand i10 Asta MT for everything else.

Interestingly, my family has this unintentional Hyundai loyalty. There has been one Hyundai with us since 2007. Started with the Santro Xing, then the Grand i10 which was again replaced with the facelifted Grand i10 we currently have.

Re: Which Car Manufacturer combo is in your household AND would you change it?

My garage has a 2021 Virtus 1.0L MT and a 2017 Innova Crysta GX 2.8AT.
Plus a Nano AMT that I'm planning to upgrade or remove.

While visits to the fuel stations are frequent, I love these cars to the core.

Re: Which Car Manufacturer combo is in your household AND would you change it?

Currently, our selection comprises exclusively of Japanese vehicles, specifically the Toyota Innova Crysta, Honda Jazz, and Honda Amaze.
We are highly satisfied with the outstanding service and exceptional build quality offered by these Japanese automakers.
Unless Honda decides to withdraw from the Indian market, we have no intentions of altering this winning combination.
Our future upgrade plans include considering a Lexus.

Re: Which Car Manufacturer combo is in your household AND would you change it?

Don't have a photograph of the garage, but here is what we've got at the moment:

1. (2013) F30 BMW 328i Sportline
2. (2010) Mk2 Skoda Laura 1.8 TSI
3. (2010) Ford Figo 1.2 Titanium petrol

This does not include my extended family's garage which includes a 2021 Volkswagen T-Roc and a 2017 Honda Jazz CVT. (Father’s and sister’s respectively)

I will probably be letting go of the Skoda and the Ford in a few months, and we will look at replacing both with:

1. A small electric car (undecided)
and
2. Compact SUV (undecided, but looking at a used T-Roc / Kushaq 1.5 DSG / Taigun 1.5 DSG)

Cheers.

Re: Which Car Manufacturer combo is in your household AND would you change it?

I have had the ownership of the following OEM combinations

1) Tata Nano+ Fiat Linea
2) Nissan Micra+ Fiat Linea
3) Nissan Micra + Renault Duster
4)) VW Polo+ Renault Duster
5) VW Polo + Honda City
6) Tata Tiago+ Hyundai Creta.

Earlier single vehicle purchases 1) Hyundai Santro2) MSIL Swift Dzire.

With the current brouhaha about diesel cars, it may be time to look for a replacement lest the resale value of the car starts dropping.

Re: Which Car Manufacturer combo is in your household AND would you change it?

I just realised our garage has cars from different companies

1) Mercedes GLE43 AMG
2) Toyota Innova Crysta 2.8 AT
3) Mahindra Thar 2.2 AT
4) Suzuki Scross 1.6

Extended cars used regularly, Hyundai Creta AT / GT and Duster AMT.

All the VW / Tata stable cars got sold. if the VW EV van comes I will add it

Need to add a Convertible and Pick up to complete the Garage. Somehow we never got an American car into the Garage. Missed out on the Mustang / Endeavour 3.2
