Re: Toyota Rumion launched in India at Rs. 10.29 lakh

Would rather buy a Maruti Ertiga than the T-badged Rumion with additional premium. Only positive side of Rumion is Toyota's extended warranty compared to Maruti, but that does not justify the premium charged. Other than that, there is nothing compelling to opt for this, unless you are a loyal T badge customer or die-hard fan.

Re: Toyota Rumion launched in India at Rs. 10.29 lakh

Interesting that Toyota chose to launch a car that has a lap belt and no curtain airbags (on any variant). Immediately before the Rumion all their cars (including the Maruti rebadges) had these, and I thought Toyota had something to do with it, because Maruti doesn't seem to care about fitting these to models not shared with Toyota.

They could have circumvented this partly by rebranding the XL6 instead of the Ertiga, which is frankly more in line with Toyota's image anyway.

Without curtain airbags this cannot score more than 3 Bharat NCAP stars, which is a shame because I thought Toyota were going for an all-4/5 star portfolio.

Jokes apart, as a buyer am not happy because two big companies offering the same product with cosmetic changes. Ridiculous
Inspite of having the same "shell", it is still not an "object" of desire.

Re: Toyota Rumion launched in India at Rs. 10.29 lakh

Overwhelming response to Rumion MPV compels Toyota Kirloskar to stop taking CNG variant bookings.

Quote:
The company is open to taking orders for its petrol only Neo Drive variant.

The demand has surpassed expectations resulting in a long delivery time across variants especially E-CNG options.

The demand situation is quite similar at its alliance partner Maruti Suzuki - who supplies the MPV to Toyota, with the CNG variant waiting period running into 6-9 months.
The company will continue to regularly assess the situation and do its best to resume the order booking of the said variant at the earliest.

Looks they don't want to get much more taxi image. Already they are into taxi market heavily with Innovas and Glanzas, they perhaps don't want another outsourced Taxi product.

Actually they have production issues, nothing else.I heard that Ertiga CNG waiting has gone upto 2 years. Maruti can't manufacture so many CNG vehicles, most of them have waiting periods.

Re: Toyota Rumion launched in India at Rs. 10.29 lakh

It's either production issues, or marketing codswallop... they halted the bookings for the Hilux immediately after lauch, but they are now available at a handsome discount - where did the overwhelming response go?

Toyota just stop this nonsense.
