My pre owned 2018 BRV had the usual 3+2 year I think. However it can be extended for up to a whooping 10 years on a yearly basis. Was a major reason in finding the confidence to go for a pre owned vehicle. Needless to say extending it was among the first things done with service and I will keep renewing, especially since it is a CVT.

Factory coverage for 2023 Tucson in the US :
5yr/60K miles bumper-2-bumper while powertrain is 10yr/100K miles.

I got the bumper-2-bumper extended to match powertrain. This includes tyre rims. Essentially - full coverage for 10 yr/100k miles on any component.

10 years Warranty on my Honda BRV Diesel

Yes, Honda India offers 10 years warranty on almost all models including less popular and discontinued products like Honda BRV.

Must be the highest warranty terms in all Car Companies selling cars in India.

There must be a confusion. BS6.2 is 3 years and 1 Lakh kilometers from factory. Extended warranty is 2 years additional summing to total of 5 years.

There is no more 2 + 2; But only 3 + 2.

I also bought myself a Safari that came with 3 years standard and I got that additional top up to 5 years.

Other car I have is Ford Aspire TDCI MY2018.
Vehicle came with 2 years warranty. Got additional 2 years at the time of purchase.

Later got extra 2 years totally to 6 Years. Got a call few days back that Ford wants to offer 7th year warranty / 120K Kilometers.

I have done 80K KMs so far.

So, to summarize.
2 + 2 + 2 + ( Thinking of 7th year as well )

I bought a Seltos HTX IVT BS6.2 in May 2023. They were offering 3 year standard warranty + 2 years additional warranty at around 19k. I refused to take it because I feel that if there is any manufacturing defect in the vehicle, you get to know about it in max 2,3 months. After that , all are minor/ manageable defects. They dont cost as much as we have to pay for warranty. I usually dont take my vehicle to Oem's service station as they charge much more than what we get from outside. I get serviced my vehicles with Castrol Magnetic and purolator filters. Rs.3000 is the maximum I remember I paid for any oil , air filter change.
Although,at the time of delivery, Kia offered me 2 year extended warranty at approx Rs.10k but still I refused to take it as I have never claimed any warranty of all the cars that I have owned over the past 10 years.

As a overall suggestion to this thread, it would be helpful if the cost of extended warranty is mentioned too.

You can buy it post warranty but has a cooling off period (don’t remember exactly) plus a little higher amount.

If Bought before expiry, cost me 7k-ish including taxes. Good enough for peace of mind I say. While honda CVTs are the most reliable, its still an expensive gearbox. So I will continue to buy it till 10 years mark

I am a long advocate of extended warranty in 4 wheeled personal vehicle sector and always go with the max warranty available. All modern vehicles are ideally put together with some standards into them and nothing much happened in 1st 3 or4 years of ownership (exceptions are there). The real pain starts after that with all those expensive parts giving issues and the repair / replace. I believe anything above 5 years is a real boon.

2011 Nissan Micra (P) (now sold)

Standard warranty: 2 Years
Extended warranty: 2 Years

Nothing happened in those 4 years. Quiet a lot happened after that though unfortunately.

2018 Hyundai Verna SX (P)

Standard warranty: 3 Years (1 lac KM)
Extended warranty: 2 Years + 2 Years

Hyundai introduced 6th and 7th year EW pretty late and I was eager to grab on. Got 2 of the steering module spares replaced under warranty.

2023 Tata Punch Adventure (P)

Standard warranty: 3 Years (1 Lac KM)
Extended warranty: 2 Years (Not sure, but I believe it is 2.5 Lac KM)

Just 2 months into ownership. Hopefully will sail through a long ownership.

Standard Warranty: 5 Years, 1 Lakh KM.

No option to extend this at the moment.

Standard Warranty reduced to 3 Years, 1 Lakh Km on Bs-6 models.
