Extended warranty - Well, it was a Honda. So, I didn't feel the need of extended warranty. Around 10 years down the line, I have not faced any issue and car is running smoothly. But I won't suggest this approach. Better to get covered by warranty.

Jeep Compass 2.0 Multijet Diesel

- Standard Warranty is for 3 years and 1 lakh kms.
- Extended Warranty of up to 5 years and 1.5 Lakh kms.

The extended Warranty charge is approximately Rs 40000.

While claiming the warranty they check the service history of the car. Service interval is 15000 km so even if you get the car serviced at 15100 km then they directly reject the claim.

1. Hyundai Creta 2016(P MT)
Standard Warranty(SW): 3 years/unlimited kms
Extended warranty(EW): did not take the EW as the experience was not good in SW only. Paint started to peel of the boot(dealership did not honoured the warranty). It is a 2016 Oct white coloured car. Till now no other problems faced. The car has merely run 40k kms in 7 years!

2. Toyota Glanza 2022(G AMT)
Standard Warranty(SW): 3 years/1,00,000 kms
Extended Warranty(EW): 5 years/1,00,000 kms. Took EW at time of purchase for ₹ 13,500 to avoid AMT troubles in future(if any). This has run around 15k kms in 1 year!

Overall, I feel this is a good package for a hassle-free ownership experience, but I would have loved it if Kia had offered the option of a 7-year extended warranty like its sister brand Hyundai offers.
