Can anyone confirm if Jan 31 2025 is the latest deadline for HSRP in Karnataka?
I ordered my HSRP from makemyhsrp.com and the order has been pending for over a month. Is it normal for it to take this long?

Update: They finally contacted me and got it installed after I left them a bad review on Google Maps lol:
I suppose we can call the HSRP implementation in Karnataka a failure - if all they have to show after 2 years and 7 deadline extensions is 30% compliance.

I had gone for RC extension of my 2010 make Activa in KA-03 RTO (Kasthuri Nagar) in early February 2025. I had HSRP installed in 2023. My Activa had few scratches on its sides and wasn't looking brand new. I was told to get the body painted and come again after few hours.
But among the other 2 dozen 'polished and shining' 15-year old bikes, many did not have HSRP. RTO staff did not bat an eyelid before clearing the manual inspection :Frustrati. This is the state of implementation of mandatory HSRP plates.
Only the law abiding meek care about all this. The ones flouting law/rules blatantly seem to get away with it most of the times :Frustrati

As the clipping mentions, there is a High Court order to maintain status quo which prevents RTO staff from taking any action based on whether HSRP is present on not.

Those bikes without HSRP were cleared as HSRP mandate is extended till March 31st. Post March 31st, I am sure FC test will not pass without the HSRP.
During a regular service of my car two years ago the SA asked to get the number plate changed. He fixed one with blue colour section on left side with a holographic sticker and IND mark under that. It is a metallic plate with proper number coming out.
But, when I checked with latest details of HSRP, they have no blue part on the plate and a number embosed in addition to holographic sticker and IND letters. Does that mean my plate is fake and I was cheated by the service person, knowingly or unknowingly?
BTW I do see a lot of cars with such plates with blue section on left side. So more confused now. Is the following format valid?

Hi @rajivtelang HSRPs need to have laser etched serial numbers on both number plates. It's not the holographic sticker that is the primary differentiator. Additionally, you will also be issued a sticker with registration number to be stuck inside your windscreen, called a 3rd number plate (I think).
I would suggest going to the SIAM
site and applying for a new one.

That plate is a simple embossed plate. In fact the blue strip with hologram and stars around it are a copy of EU plates you often see in some European countries.
Given that there was no HSRP procedure for pre 2019 vehicles 2 years back in many states, your dealer perhaps just offered to get you embossed plates.
Real HSRP has to be obtained using the portal prescribed by the MVD of the State you are in which in turn will direct you to "manufacturers" authorized for your brand of car by your State Transport dept. This plate will come with Hologram and also Laser embossed numbers on the plate along with a Sticker for windshield if yours is a Car. Pretty simple process now to obtain so best is for you to get it.

During those days, there was no HSRP for retro fitment. The blue one what you were offered was fondly referred as IND plates. Since many years, the IND plates were thought to be the next replacement plates(government nor RTO never gave such directive) and became widely popular.

It's been a while since I got mine but I know this one will work. Click Book HSRP on top right. Select the state and then proceed with the model etc.

And they will deliver the plates at home? I did not see any address field on the website. Do they collect data from RTO? And they will come for fitment as well? Sorry for the flurry of questions.
