A special note on the invoice says, it is customer's responsibility to have the old plates removed before the fitment especially if the nuts are rusted. I think they must have been spending lot of time removing rl: than fitting the new one.

Hi,

I’m trying to order HSRP home fitment for my RX135. Hope yours is done. I have few questions can you please help.

  • Will they come for home fitment and will they do it on their own?
  • Do we need to pay extra for fitment charges? In other way if they deliver it can we fit on our own with a local garage or mechanic.

When you order your plates online, you have select home fitment. Home fitment charges will be collected (extra 100 ~ 150Rs - don't remember exactly) online at the time of order.

I think as per rules they are not supposed to handover the plates. They should check RC copy and fix to the same vehicle.

A person will call you and come to your place for fitment and should not demand any money, but may push for number plate brackets etc.

I suggest spraying WD-40 in advance on your existing screws (if they are old and rusted) to make sure current plates can be removed easily. If the existing plate cannot be removed, then the person fitting it cannot do much.

Can you not add newline [\n] in the address. Try to type the whole address just with spaces in a single line and let their form take care of the newline. Sometimes their archaic software treats newline as special character

Hi buddy,

I went ahead with dealer fitment as home takes about a month. Oct 04 and beyond :(

Since I have the FC due in Nov so not taking too much chances, :) to keep things ready prior.
I will remember to put WD-40 in advance as I feel the screw maybe hard to remove. It’s been more than 10 years I changed plate.

My KA registered Honda Activa is in Goa. The HSRP portal declined to deliver the HSRP number plates of my Activa outside Karnataka.

So, I chose Karwar Honda scooter dealer as a place to get the HSRP number plate delivered.

Prior to that I called the Karwar Honda dealer and asked them if they could receive the HSRP Number plates on my behalf (for me). They agreed and said they have no issues.

I was provided a date and time by the HSRP number plates provider to go to the dealer and get the plates fixed.

A week before the said date, I received a WhatsApp message from the Karwar Honda dealer that my HSRP plates have arrived.

I went from Vasco, Goa to Karwar Honda Dealer and took the physical possession of the plates. I did not take my Activa to Karwar as the distance was about 200 Kms in total..

I got the HSRP number plates fixed through a local number plate shop in Vasco, Goa for Rs 100.

After the plates were fixed, I took 2 photos of the scooter (one front and one rear) displaying the HSRP plates and WhatsApped them to the Karwar Honda dealer to update their records that the HSRP plates are affixed on my scooter and the work is completed. I think they have to update the Vahan portal in this regard.

So, best thing is get it delivered at the local Honda dealer. If that's difficult, ask for a home delivery. You can get it fixed at the local number plate guy or near your RTO office or any vehicle dealership where these number plates are affixed. It's not a difficult task..

Many many thanks for this. I just tried without adding a new line and Bingo it worked. I have booked my number plate now. Many thanks once again. :Cheering:

Thanks for the detailed post:thumbs up.

I have went ahead and selected dealer fitment and slated for 09/20. Hopefully it should be done as bike is in Bangalore only.

So after putting off getting this done for my 2002 Enfield for long because of the manufacturer name not being updated on Vahaan and not wanting to visit the RTO, I decided to get it done especially as there was no news on pushing the dead line again.
I checked with my RTO agent and he asked me to send an email to the RTO or visit with a written request.
No hard work like visiting the RTO in sending an email and so I did that first with no hope of any respone or change in applying for the HSRP.
It was a week back since I sent the mail and no response, so I sent a reminder yesterday and tried today on the HSRP site and surprise! I was able to apply and fixed a date for 12 days later. It was more happiness since my bike turns 22 tomorrow and I could finally get this done and can peacefully ride it till I have to get the next FC done.

My KA03 registered car (2012) has been out of KA for a while now and I could not order the HSRP for the period I was in Hyderabad, as the option of getting them delivered in TS was not available. I had noticed that the site bookmyhsrp offered the option of delivering the plates to several states including West Bengal. Two weeks back, I placed an order for the plates and the colour sticker to be delivered to a dealership in Kolkata. Got confirmation within two days of placing the order that the plates have been delivered to the dealership I chose. Drove down on the day of the appointment which was less than a week from placing the order online. They were expecting me since I called and confirmed the day before. Got the plates fixed and was out in 15 minutes.

This may help those whose KA registered are not in KA.

Just enter last five digits of the engine and chassis number. In case you still get a mismatch error, swap engine and chassis number in the fields and only last five digits. Should work.

I applied and fixed the HSRP around April time frame. After several months, last week the dealership reached out for vehicle pictures with number plates to be uploaded to VAAHAN :crying

I have provided the pictures and got message from Rosemerta that Vaahan is updated. I don't think they pasted the windscreen sticker also. Not sure what issue this is going to create in future.

Why is it that none of the process steps works correctly?

Sir,
I am unable to order HSRP online because the manufacturer name is not updated in Vahaan portal. (See attached)
I have attached the copy of the RC. Please update the manufacturer name in vahaan so I can order the HSRP.

Vehicle number -
Reg Name -

RC attached.

You will have to Google the email ID since it's different for the RTO's.
