re: HSRP mandatory in Karnataka | EDIT: Deadline extended to 20th November 2024

I got my HSRP fixed for my Octavia at the VW Palace Cross road showroom. The whole process took barely 5 mins besides waiting for 10 mins. They have the rivet gun and did it quite well (including aligning the plates). Overall, very pleased with the execution. Now need to see how it pans out for two other vehicles of mine (4W, 2W).

As has become the norm these days - a theoretical implementation of a process with no regard to practical difficulties whatsoever. Ironical too give the humongous sums we pay in the form of taxes for registration and fuel.
Drive on,

re: HSRP mandatory in Karnataka | EDIT: Deadline extended to 20th November 2024

Got the HSRP affixed on my FIL's Hyundai Grand i10.
Had good experience ordering the HSRP at bookmyhsrp.com (Rosemerta). They kept updating the status via SMS.
The dealer/SC (Trident, Kalyan Nagar) also confirmed receipt of HSRP via whatsapp & asking to come for affixing.
Went on the appointment day & time. They took around 20 mins to affix the plates with the frames (paid Rs.450/- for frames). It was riveted.

No, its a KA-17 registered bike and all papers in my name. I am the 2nd owner. I am not able to understand the message the portal is throwing. What does it mean and what's the alternative?

I get the similar error as mentioned in my earlier post. In the RC, the "Maker Name" is mentioned as "Others" , however "Model Name" is "Honda Dio" and looks like this is the reason for not able to map the correct OEM/Manufacturer?

Can you check what is the "Maker Name" mentioned in your bike's RC? (In Parivahan)

Others getting this error can check the same.

The exact message is:

This is something I am not able to understand!! The vehicle belongs to the state of Karnataka, never left the state. Should I walk into any Yamaha dealer and check? I guess will find some answers...

On the other hand, when I check the RC card, the manufacturer shows as "ESCORTS CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENTS" and not YAMAHA motors. Do you think this could be the issue? However why should a manufacturer authorize the buyer for such an activity?

re: HSRP mandatory in Karnataka | EDIT: Deadline extended to 20th November 2024

I just got new HSRP number plates for my car from bookmyhsrp.com (Rosmerta) and the process was fairly simple. Within 7 days of placing the order, the number plates were installed. This is how it went for me -

1) I entered all my vehicle details on the website, paid roughly Rs. 780 online and scheduled an appointment with the nearest Hyundai service center. I then immediately received a PDF invoice, email and SMS confirmation.

2) After 2 days, I got an SMS saying that the order was dispatched.

3) On the day of the scheduled appointment, I called the service center to check if the number plates had reached them. Upon confirmation, I went there with the car.

4) At the service center, they only asked me for the booking receipt. They offered a number plate frame for Rs. 450 which I really liked, so I asked them to install that as well. They did not charge for anything else. The fitting happened within 5 minutes without any issues. A number plate sticker was also pasted to the windshield.

I was initially on the fence about this HSRP rule but it turns out that in order for the government to implement the new Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) system that will replace FasTag toll collection, they will need standardized number plates which cannot be easily tampered with. Hence, HSRP makes sense on the long run.

re: HSRP mandatory in Karnataka | EDIT: Deadline extended to 20th November 2024

I just recently completed this process for my car and scooter respectively in Bangalore.

A brief couple of tips I have is
- Appointment date is just a formality, atleast in these early days. Don't wait for it
- And secondly do close the loop with dealership

Read through further-

[Tip 1]

For MakeMyHsrp orders : Once you received a SMS confirming that Manufacturing process has started and to expect delivery at affixing centre very soon, give it 2 days time and call your car dealer to check if the number plates have already arrived. In all likelihood they already have it prior to your appointment dates. If so, ask them if you can come for fixing even its prior to your appointment date. They will most likely give you a Yes, take your order copy and visit them, get the job done. Don't need to ideally wait until the appointment day.

For OrderYourHsrp orders : Same process as above, except the wordings in SMS can vary. Interestingly, i also received a follow-up SMS stating that the plate has been affixed. This is for my scooter. And this is literally 2 weeks prior to my actual appointment date. Over here i certainly know the plates have been delivered given the nature of SMS, so I just directly visited dealership, and got it affixed immediately

[Tip 2]
If your dealership isn't closing the loop immediately in getting data uploaded to Vahan after your affixed the plates, do validate with them if they know how to do it in first place, chances are they know and just being busy for time being. Please don't assume, and ask the dealership about this anyway. Follow-up with them in a day or two if you still don't see SMS confirming that data has been uploaded to Vahan. Chase up until its done!
(OR)
Your dealership simply doesn't know how to trigger the actions in their software that will cascade to the vahan data completion SMS. In my case, unfortunately the dealership i affixed with fell in this category. So how to deal with it? Get the hsrp point of contact at dealership on a con-call with MakeMyHrsp. The dealership will learn through that process, and sms will get fired immediately. You got your job done!

Hope this is useful in some ways!

re: HSRP mandatory in Karnataka | EDIT: Deadline extended to 20th November 2024

I have a problem with my 2012 second ownership Innova. For Toyota we are directed to ordermyhsrp site. When i enter the details, the vahan site gives status as "NOC Issued" as per ordermyhsrp website. When i check Vahan site myslef i find that "NOC issued" is for the first owner. The second owner (myself) is status "Active". On mailing ordermyhsrp support they keep saying check with RTO. I explained my situation but they dont seem to budge. I dont have anything to clarify with RTO.
Any one else have a work around for this situation?
thanks much for any pointers..

I am stuck with the exact same problem. NOC is issued for transferring ownership. When the transfer is complete, the NOC should have been automatically cancelled. But I guess that didn’t happen and the NOC is still active. I was told to go to RTO to cancel it. I haven’t found time to do it yet.

When did you transfer ownership for the car. Mine was done in 2017.

I am facing the exact same issue, I asked an RTO agent to check if there was anything amiss with my registration, he confirmed there was no issue. I will be going to the RTO and getting it sorted, will update once I have some progress.

re: HSRP mandatory in Karnataka | EDIT: Deadline extended to 20th November 2024

I'm not sure how serious our government is about implementing the HSRP for automobiles that were registered prior to 2019. Because I recently purchased new HSRP license plates for my Dominar from bookmyhsrp.com (Rosmerta), I thought the whole thing was a fraud.

I took a screenshot of the electronic receipt after the order confirmation. I too was hoping to hear from them by email, but I haven't. I don't know how, but I misplaced the screenshot, and without an order ID, I was unable to track the order.

I got another SMS the day before. The SMS included the order number, allowed for order tracking, obtained dealer information, and included the installation date and time. Despite the fact that I had chosen it, I had completely forgotten about it.(Order ID is BMKAF7472C0E-CF8A-XX for Vehicle Reg. No.KA02 XX XXXX, your HSRP is delivered to the dealer location. Kindly visit on Actual 23/09/2023 10:00 AM-12:00 PM Team Rosmerta.)

On the specified date, I went to the dealer's location at 1 p.m. Several additional clients were awaiting the technician to install license plates. I was instructed to present my RC and a letter of confirmation from Bookmyhsrp inside the Popular Bajaj Showroom. I was very surprised by it since I assumed the order number and SMS would be sufficient.
Luckily, I took the screenshot again while tracking the order on the website. and had RC in Digilocker. After submitting these two copies, I was given the HSRP plates to get it installed by their only installer. I got the shock of my life seeing the poor HSRP plate quality. With just a pressure rub using a finger, it can take off the black print on the embossed numbers.

We should overlook using a pressure washer to clean the HSRP plates. I then came across a traffic cop installing HSRP plates on his personal motorcycle, and we both got to talking on the quality of HSRP plates. My bike's old IND plates, which is over 4 years old and has undergone numerous pressure washes but is still IND plates in excellent shape.

He noticed my old IND license plates and questioned why I needed to switch to HSRP since it was already fine and legal. I asked, "What?" Since the deadline to make a change is November 17. sir, do we have any option left?

then he responded. We are unable to follow all of the laws' requirements since there are too many of them. Only when something gets out of hand do we have to stop it and impose a penalty, as with the helmet law, aftermarket exhaust, triple riding, rash riding, no parking, etc. On to a more serious thought now. Is the HSRP a scam?

re: HSRP mandatory in Karnataka | EDIT: Deadline extended to 20th November 2024

Hi all, I've been an occasional and long time lurker. I searched the forums and this thread, but could not find any information about getting HSRP for Daewoo Matiz.

I'm in Bengaluru (Bangalore Urban) and am unable to find where I can book HSRP and get it done. When I visit the siam.in website and proceed to the screen where the manufacturer has to be selected, I click on Daewoo and it opens a new tab with the same manufacturer selection page again. Seems like this is what's happening for Chevrolet and a few other brands whose manufacturers left the country long ago.

I posted a query on the SIAM website asking about this but haven't received any response for more than a week. I've also emailed siam@siam.in and am waiting for a reply.

I tried my luck with bookmyhsrp to see if it would work, but after entering the vehicle details it shows this message: "As a Vendor we are not authorised for this vehicle Please visit www.siam.in for respective HSRP Maker."

1. Does anyone here have a Matiz or know someone who has a Matiz (in Bengaluru) and has figured out where and how to get HSRP?

2. Is there a better way to follow up with SIAM (other than the contact form on the website or the siam@siam.in email address) and get a quicker response?

Thanks for your help and suggestions.
