Maruti Suzuki Subscribe introduces pre-fixed buy-back option

Maruti Suzuki Subscribe is now offering customers the option of a pre-fixed buy-back price. Customers can avail of a pre-determined buy-back price for their leased vehicle at the end of the subscription tenure.

The buy-back price payable at the end of the subscription tenure will be fixed upfront. According to the company, this will provide greater flexibility to customers to plan and make a more informed decision about retaining the car at the end of the subscription period.

The monthly rental for a Maruti Suzuki vehicle includes the vehicle's ex-showroom price, RTO expenses, Insurance, accessories, vehicle maintenance and roadside assistance. Customers can choose from multiple tenure options and are not required to make a down payment upfront.

The White Plate Subscription with a buy-back option would be available in select cities based on the presence of subscription partners.

Subscription or Purchase - Maruti WagonR - which is better?

Hi Team-BHPians,

I am Vijay -- a new user of Team BHP from Chennai.

I am planning to buy a New Car. I have almost decided to buy a WagonR after going through reviews found in TeamBHP and other websites.

Then I came across this subscription option offered by Maruti

https://www.marutisuzuki.com/subscribe

https://www.marutisuzuki.com/subscri...n-subscription

I have attached the screen-shots shown for the plan which I had selected in the website for WagonR ZXI AGS 1.2 L

The subscription tenure is for 60 months - with a cap on driving 10,000 km per month (excess km will be charged as extra)

There is no upfront payment - just the monthly subscription amount to be paid. Insurance, Maintenance & Road side assistance will be taken care of by the service provider.

There is buy-back option available at the end of 60 months.

Monthly subscription : Rs. 17866 for 60 months

Buyback price : Rs. 1.22 Lakhs after 60 months.

I had taken a quote from a dealer in chennai (which is attached)

The on-road price quoted is Rs. 8.28 lakhs. Suppose I pay Rs. One Lakh upfront and take a Car Loan for 7.28 Lakhs for 5 years term, the approx EMI is around Rs. 15,000 per month.

When I worked out by including insurance cost & maintenance, the amount spent on subscription plan is almost closer to the amount I would spend on buying it. There was not much difference.

I want the advice of the members of this group about which is the better option to buy this car - Subscription or Purchase.

Thanks in advance.

1. It would be 10K Kms per annum cap and not monthly. This is very comfortable for normal users for city use and the occasional out station drive.
2. Yes subscribing for a car is a good option because it removes all the typical ‘thinking’ relating to service, maintenance, insurance and all that.
3. It works well for those who dont want to get too attached to or personalize their vehicles.
4. Financially it is comparable - it is like paying a monthly rental for a house instead of owning it.
5. If it is possible for you, try and evaluate a company lease option as well - that will give you good tax benefits.

Re: Maruti Suzuki Subscribe introduces pre-fixed buy-back option

Thank you Sir.

Yes I misread it. It is for 10,000 km per year -- Approx 800 km per month which suits me.

My doubt is that how can they have a buy-back price of Rs. 1.22 lakhs after the subscription period of 5 years. Even a 5 year old 2nd hand WagonR seems to be costing about 4 to 5 lakhs. Do you see any hidden thing in this.

Regarding company lease, I work for a private company. So can I do it through my company in case they agree to it.
