Lithium ion batteries with NMC chemistry aren't suitable for hot and humid climate (like our's).
Tata uses the LFP chemistry in their battery packs that can tolerate high temperatures.
The ZSEV comes with only one battery pack having LFP Chemistry

re: Scoop! Tata Curvv test mule spotted in India. EDIT: Curvv.ev launched at Rs. 17.49 lakh

Feel like tata has nailed the design, features and will probably nail safety too.

What remains to be seen is the pricing and space inside, especially because the 1.5 isn't on offer while the top sellers of this segment have it (even though the 1.5 turbo probably doesn't have significant market share)

The 1.2 tgdi curvv needs to undercut the 1.5 tgdi variants by a good amount while the 1.2 revotron needs to undercut the 1.0 turbo of the VW twins and the 1.5 naturally aspirated of the korean twins.

The diesel variants will definitely be priced on par or even above competition due to the diesel DCT combo.

Also I think the curvv is still based on the x1 platform, I think this was mentioned by shailesh chandra in an interview when the second concept of the curvv was showcased but can't dig that video up. I am sure it was mentioned that it was based on a highly modified version of the x1 platform and in the future tata would be continuing with the x1, alfa arc, Omega arc and the pure ev platforms.

No, the LR version comes with NMC chemistry battery pack in UK. Check out the link below.

Else where in the world it comes in two versions standard range with 51kWh LFP and long range with 72kWh NMC.

In India we get the LFP standard range version.

What a killer teaser!!! 60% gradient climb that is some feat for an EV with front wheel drive.

I would love to know the experience of BHPian driving on the same road in an front wheel drive ICE car.

On a side note. This teaser is the first video I have seen of the Curvv and was surpised to hear it being pronounced as 'Curve'. I had assumed that with the second V at the end, the pronunciation would be "Curvy"

The buttons on the steering wheel seem to indicate that it will have ADAS too. Also, all the durability testing commercials could mean Tata is trying to tell us this car is engineered to be reliable. Only time will tell though.

Does Anybody else think that this car looks a lot like a smaller Cybertruck, especially from the rear?

Tata EV
At 2.23 to 2.30 in the video, does it seem like they've done away with the rotary dial gear knob and given like a more natural/conventional gear shifter?

re: Scoop! Tata Curvv test mule spotted in India. EDIT: Curvv.ev launched at Rs. 17.49 lakh

Today, I had a meet and greet with my SA and below are some findings on the new TATA Curvv.
1. They had already received the training for the new car
2. Front fascia is very similar to Harrier/Safari
3. The back of the car is more enticing and muscular
4. TD vehicles are expected to come to showrooms on the first of August
5. Unofficial bookings have already started
6. The interiors of the car are similar to Nexon rather than Harrier/Safari and this is where the SA was hugely disappointed

Done away with the rotary dial, but looks like it is the equally problematic fancy mono stable shifter found in the Nexon AMTs and DCTs.

Got both these files containing details about the feature list from a dealership.

Sales kit mentions Curvv as BNCAP 5 star rated and also states that it has L2 ADAS.
It also mentions 3 engine options with DCA available in all three.

All other feature lists are as expected and Tata has definitely prepared to launch a car this time with all the weapons in their arsenal

Marketing campaign idea- showcase the panoramic sunroof and say you can observe Curvva Chauth from inside the car *runs away and hides*

Looks like a great alternative to the Cretas and Seltos army on our roads. Only decision to make right now from my perspective is ICE vs EV depending on charging options available at apartment buildings.

My absolute dream car to own and use as a daily driver in India was the AMG GLE Coupe in matte grey. Since that is well over 2 crores, this should serve as a good lite version of that

Car looks fab on road.... fingers crossed reg petrol version. Will it get a new engine or will they squeeze the nexon 1.2 turbo once more. Hoping they launch a new engine.

For the curvv EV it only mentions that it is based on a 5 star platform, perhaps I am looking too deep into it but its weird how it isn't directly advertised as 5 star rated like the nexon or punch EV.

Could it be that tata has only tested the ICE variants of the curvv?
