re: Scoop! Tata Curvv test mule spotted in India. EDIT: Curvv Petrol launched at Rs. 10.00 lakh

To those looking at Curvv as their next purchase, here is a reality check. Please refer below Youtube

It's in regional language, but fast forward to @1:17. That's the real problem Tata is facing right now. Until that is sorted, nothing will change. We will buy our fancy car & dump it in their in so called service centres.

PS: I am an unfortunate owner of Tata Safari 2022. Official tagline is "Recalim your life". But my experiance so far has been "We will claim your valuable time & life"

But have to agree they are hitting the jackpot lately with really good cars.

The taxi image burden was something Tata really struggled to rub off during the Indica/Indigo days. It's a lucrative market but really affects brand desirability.

Looks are completely subjective and my vote goes for the Curvv.

The only challenge I see with the high window line is that the rear passenger may feel claustrophobic.
Thanks to the big sunroof which will take care of this.
The window line is steeper in Curvv than Basalt but that does not mean the window area itself is small. When you take a closer look you can see that the there is a curvy portion in the front door where the window line meets the bonet line. That scooped design upfront results in a steeper angle for the window line which gives the impression of high rear portion and an aggressive stance without compromising in window area. Infact there is a chance that the car has even more window area upfront than others.

These little details are the kind of interactions I love about in this forum. Kudus to whoever bought up the thing about the window line👍🏼

re: Scoop! Tata Curvv test mule spotted in India. EDIT: Curvv Petrol launched at Rs. 10.00 lakh

I was driving towards my workplace today morning and at around 9:30 AM I spotted a Tata Curvv being unloaded in front of a Tata Dealership in Raipur. I am surprised to see a yet to be launched product at a relatively smaller city like Raipur. The car had the white protective cover on it, since it was a highway and I was doing 80kmph, I couldn’t ask my co-passengers to click a picture. I’m sure it must have been recorded in my dashcam footage, I will check for the same in the evening.

Taxi market will be ready to lap up Tata Motors cars but there are multiple issues. First is branding, where Tata should use a different logo and also change the look.

Secondly Tata should provide seperate service centres for these taxies and should not be shared with private customers.

Maybe wait to see an actual car, but I'm not seeing the spaciousness that a born electric car should have. Maybe too many compromises needed to make a car have both EV and ICE versions, but isn't increased space one of the points of an EV? Look at the MG Windsor in comparison.

I say this is a Kona owner, looking enviously at the newer EVs (Ioniq, BYD etc).

Compare it with Basalt, the same window line is more horizontal and the rear design above the wheel looks more balanced. To me Basalt's design is more pleasing and acceptable.
True. As someone mentioned, same is the case with Altroz and Nexon design. Curvv just looks like a Nexon with a boot to me. Eventhough Basalt looks a bit cleaner none of these two give a coupe SUV vibes and look more like sedans with higher ground clearance.

Aaaand it looks hideous. Great. TATA, when I said your products should look different from one another, this is not how I meant it. For starters, how does that gap between the wheel arches look good? Where they trying to copy the orange bug (S - Presso)?

Another thing - can we please get rid of that gosh dang lightbar? Seriously, I differentiate between a Punch.ev and a Nexon.ev. All I can see is that bar.

Bigger wheels that those wells can handle and that's one good looking coupe. Why do everything right and then overlook these glaring things which even novice guys like us can notice ?

re: Scoop! Tata Curvv test mule spotted in India. EDIT: Curvv Petrol launched at Rs. 10.00 lakh

After the initial shock value wears off, this is now increasingly looking like a stretched Nexon. I had resisted from forming my opinion till I saw a car with my own eyes. I had a close look at one yesterday in Delhi and there's a lot of Nexon in there , which is not bad but is not new either. The Front has a TATA Group Typical Face, the Side View is typically Nexon but it is the Rear which is a bit or a miss. I loved it but others might not. The Interior has bits and pieces of different TATA Cars, which again is a mature decision to control cost but is not something one expects from Suzuki and not what you expect from TATA.
Sorry, I couldn't take pics as the Dealership people were anyway allowing me a "privilege" to have an early peak.

Curv looks disproportionate and visually out of balance especially at the rear where it seems to rise upwards steeply. Tata is rushing to release yet another immature design. Basalt seems to be a much better balanced design. Both however will look much better with bigger wheels and a lowered body.

How long does it normally take for the Team BHP's review to come out, once the car is launched?

I believe that the senior BHPians must have already received the media review models for thorough review before the launch itself?

Or do they get the car for review after the public launch?
