We’ve come to expect special edition cars from Skoda and this Matte Edition is one of them. It’s
priced at a premium of Rs 40,000 over the regular Kushaq and will be limited to 500 cars only. As always, the changes are purely cosmetic and there are no mechanical changes to the car. The special matte edition Kushaq is positioned between the flagship Style and the
Monte Carlo in the brand's model line-up.
Since the Skoda Kushaq has already been reviewed by Team-BHP, this report will only focus on changes made to the Matte Edition. To read the full official review,

So, what's new on the outside?
While the Monte Carlo edition gets a lot of blacked-out elements, the Matte Edition doesn’t. It carries forward the chrome elements from the regular Kushaq around the grille and on the lower bumper. It would’ve been nice to see these blacked out:
A look at the LED projector headlamps. Also, check out the matte finish of the paint:
Alloy wheels have the same design as the regular Kushaq and are not like the Monte Carlo edition (

The ORVM covers don’t get the matte treatment. They’re still gloss black:
Same goes for the door handles. They’re finished in gloss black and also get a chrome finish on the outside:
A matte roof is going to be difficult to maintain. The roof rails are finished in brushed silver. Gloss black would’ve looked better here:
This is the carbon steel shade of paint, but with a matte finish and it looks good in person:
The shark fin antenna and the spoiler are finished in gloss black:
The chrome strip and the silver skid plate have been carried forward from the regular Kushaq. As mentioned earlier, these would’ve looked much better in black:
So, what's new on the inside?
Interiors largely remain the same with a few changes:
You get a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with 6 speakers and a subwoofer:
It gets wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity:
There’s a wireless charging pad and 2 USB-C charging ports. The car doesn’t get regular USB ports:
The center console is finished in black like the Monte Carlo edition:
A string to keep standing items in place was missing (

The Kushaq has a boot space of 385 litres that can be expanded to 1405 litres:
The special edition Kushaq is available with 1.0L TSI and 1.5L TSI engines. The 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder turbo-petrol engine produces 113 BHP and 178 Nm and is mated to a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic, while the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol unit packs 148 BHP and 250 Nm and is offered with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DSG:
