Really? I thought the 1.2 L turbo petrol would be great ! Infact , I seldom come across any complaints with the puny 1.0 L motor of the Sonet DCT. So I presume 1.2 L in the XUV300 will definitely perform better.

I too hope it happens , but the possibility is very slim. This is a facelift (same generation) and there's barely one can change anything in the structure of the car. Facelift's are pure cosmetics.

I'm in a conundrum - as my vehicle (Sonet HTX D AT) will arrive in the showroom in another 2 days or so , which I had booked last month after waiting for the launch of XUV300 FL for around 3 - 4 months. And now , when the vehicle has arrived , I get the new of the launch of the XUV300 FL.

Even there is no clarity whether Mahindra will bring in a TC for the Diesel engine.

However , a TC for the 1.2 L is pretty much confirmed.

For the hills, nothing to beat Brezza, K15C is tractable that you can start from the 3rd gear. Nothing to beat K15C.

If diesel, then 300 for gem of an engine. 1.2 has turbo lag but once in turbo spool, It is different especially with Stallion.

Surprised to hear your take on the 1.2L petrol motor. I have driven it in hills and the only issue was low fuel efficiency. There was almost never a lack of grunt from the engine. Very likely something was wrong with that particular vehicle.

Even I had thought so but then on second thoughts looking at the small displacement, I assumed that to be the culprit. It has to be kept in the right band to keep the turbo spooling. I wonder how is Mahindra able to extract so much torque and BHP from a 1.2L mill ! What mileage you got driving in the hills?

If you look closely in both the teasers, the front grille looks closed off.

So, are MnM launching the EV version first?

High time, Mahindra scrapped off the the current 300 platform with that ugly/ eye sore butchered rear end.

XUV 400 (or the OG Tivoli) should have been offered with an ICE.

Yes I too recognize that. But I hope they will launch both EV and Ice together like TATA did with Nexon with just 1 week of difference.

With all these feature additions, it will compete directly & head on with Nexon.EV

In that case, price would increase drastically due to the extended length and additional tax burden of 4 Meter + category. People will then cry rivers for paying 20 Lakh+ for a Mahindra hatchback.

So finally it’s confirmed. The XUV3XO get’s the much speculated Pano roof !

This will indeed be a big draw for the customers.

When you look at the numbers from other 3-pot turbo petrols in the segment, the numbers on the XUV300 are not really that crazy. Like most turbo-petrols in the segment, it needs to be kept around ~1600rpm for instant response. Driving in hills takes a toll on fuel efficiency. I drive with a light foot and in the hills of Kumaon, 9-10kmpl is the highest I have seen. On straight roads, 17kmpl is an easy task.

Physical buttons and knobs in the dashboard are a sigh of relief. But why no shark fin antenna?

re: Mahindra XUV 3XO launched at Rs. 7.49 lakh

Interesting feature differentiation that the XUV 300 or XUV 3XO is trying to do but the biggest issue of the boot space is likely to follow and will keep the customers away, especially now when the pricing would go up.

They might try to position this as a Creta Rival if they can increase the length of the vehicle, add more boot space!!

re: Mahindra XUV 3XO launched at Rs. 7.49 lakh

Mahindra XUV 3XO will become the first SUV in sub 4m SUV segment to get Level 2 ADAS features.

Quote:
Mahindra XUV 3XO will bring with it Level 2 ADAS suite, boasting a greater autonomy proposition. Even though the company has not revealed all the ADAS features, there will be 10 of them in total. As Mahindra will be claiming first in segment Level 2 ADAS suite, can expect Adaptive Cruise Control to be among the 10 driver assistance features.
