So what I am looking from the 3XO plus is > 4m length (same as XUV 400 EV), bigger boot space, and slotted just below Creta/Seltos in pricepoint.

That would be just AWESOME !
Totally agree! M&M could use this opportunity to get the 3XO to above 4M in length, pitch it against Creta / Seltos and re think the 300 for the C-SUV space.

As in the original Tivoli that was cut down to be rebranded as the XUV300?

Yes, in the 1st place itself - M&M should have put the original Tivoli in the market to compete against Creta.

Exactly my point. They had launched it at a premium so why cut it down?

Yes, giving out a 0 to 60 figure seems out of place, for comparison, even the Kia Sonet Diesel AT has a 0 to 60 figure of 4.70 seconds as per testing by Autocar. The 0 to 100 figure is about 11.48 seconds.

Considering N.A. petrol the Brezza Petrol (K15C) does 0 to 60 in 5.54 seconds whereas the older K15B does it in 4.98 seconds, Even if you consider sedans, the N.A. City sedan does the 0 to 60 sprint in 5.34 seconds. so a 4.5 seconds 0 to 60 time ain't bad at all, but I feel they are advertising only the 0 to 60 times as perhaps the 0 to 100 times aren't something to write home about.

This could be the trump card from Mahindra, they are doing well in all segment except this [Thar, Bolero, Scorpio, Scorpio_N, XUV700 are all market leaders]. A strong <4M offering will be a step jump for them.

However, this does look like a regular facelift and not generation change, which was required desperately as XUV300 shape looks a little weird / outdated. They need to replicate what they did to the various segments with XUV500 launch, New Thar Launch, Scorpio_N launch.

Totally agree with this.

Since when 0-60kmph timings became benchmark for cars? Bikes used to be rated for 0-60kmph and understandably so. Its like saying here's ur new Mango Fruity, behind the scenes we have reduced the qty from 150ml to 100ml, but we are offering it to you at 10 rs instead of 15!!

The 0-60 is an aberration outside of US as they refer to 0-60MPH = 0-100 KMPH which is what the car timings should be measured in and not 0-60KMPH

My theory is that perhaps an extra 2->3 gearshift is happening, which is ruining their 0-100 times. Otherwise, Mahindra’s 1.2 mStallion is by far the most powerful and torquiest engine in its class, and has strong real world performance. If I remember correctly, the current XUV300 also does not have the fastest 0-100 time, but has by far the best roll-on acceleration figures.

re: Mahindra XUV 3XO launched at Rs. 7.49 lakh

Mahindra dealers are speculating 16.3 on road for W8(O) TGDI dual tone in Mumbai. Approx 70k premium than the outgoing model.

AT expected to be a full 1.5 L over the MT variants.

Like earlier, the base will be a really base variant. Just Power steering, power windows + 6 airbags + old instrumentation. No leds or connected lights with very limited stocks. It will very much continue with the sub 10 lakh ex-showroom price across India.

The biggest question will be from which variant will 3XO provide panaromic roof, harman sound system and the digital cluster of the 400. These are the only really additions + the standard 6 airbags. W6 might not get all compelling people to upgrade to the W8s.

The hard plastics + strings on the front seat backs have already been done away with to ensure the rear passenger legs that touch the front seats don't suffer.

The front face on the face of it in teasers and spoilers is not as classy as the older one. Yet it will grow on people.

On real ride quality (suspension comfort); it literally blows away everything upto 4.3 meter cars. The 65 section tyres really help in a sea of 55 profile tyres in most SUVs in the 20-25 L segment.

I believe the hype is because this timing is Nexon EV territory which has all the torque available from a standstill. Other popular compact SUVs with ICEs take approximately 2 seconds more to reach 60 kmph.

Fuel efficiency claim is of 20.1 kmpl
  • The video has ZAP mode selected on the MID,
  • These modes are only available on XUV700 Diesel, did the manual XUV300 turbo GDI petrol engine have this modes?
  • Even the mileage indicates diesel.
  • If the TC which is shown is indeed paired with the diesel it’ll be most wished for combo!

re: Mahindra XUV 3XO launched at Rs. 7.49 lakh

No amount of sunroof or diesel automatic is going to help this car unless it brings in a big boot. Two of my cousins bought the nexon and didn't even consider this vehicle for all its features and space saying there is no boot space.
When non car enthusiast people know this, then it's a big problem for this.

This is getting interesting.

Curious to know , how does one distinguish between an AMT and TC gear knob / console? I think AMT's too get the 'P' mode. Not sure why the gearbox console shown here points towards a TC unit?

re: Mahindra XUV 3XO launched at Rs. 7.49 lakh

Mahindra XUV 3XO could be offered in four variants

Mahindra is gearing up to launch the XUV 3XO on April 29. If the latest reports are anything to go by, it could be offered in four trims, similar to the XUV700.

Mahindra XUV 3XO launched at Rs. 7.49 lakh-screenshot-20240426-114221.jpg

According to a media report, Mahindra is likely to offer the XUV 3XO in MX, AX, AX5 and AX7 with L (Luxury Pack) and Pro versions for the top-spec trims.

The XUV 3XO will feature a completely new design. The SUV gets a redesigned front end featuring new LED headlamps, dual-tone alloy wheels and more. It has a totally new rear fascia with C-shaped LED taillights connected by an LED light bar.

Inside, the XUV 3XO will feature a larger free-standing touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster and other features like a Harman Kardon sound system, automatic climate control and a panoramic sunroof.

The XUV 3XO will carry forward the same 1.2-litre turbo-petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engines. The SUV will be capable of sprinting from 0-60 km/h in 4.5 seconds and will have an ARAI-certified mileage of 20.1 km/l.
