All-new Citroen C3X crossover sedan coming in 2024.

An electric version of the Citroen C3X will follow in 2025.

C3X will be a fastback-styled sedan with high ground clearance
Will be pitted against the Virtus, Slavia, City, Verna
Expected to come with 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine

Though the company has not indicated any timeline for the C3X, it’s safe to assume that Citroen will maintain the same pattern of launching both internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric versions within a six-month interval.

With the ICE version of the C3 Aircross due by July-August, the electric derivative of the SUV is likely to be launched in February 2024. Hence, the C3X should arrive around July 2024, with the electric version of the crossover sedan six months later in January or February 2025.

They bought the name back in 2017.

I really hope they do.

But, I would have imagined a classier styling for the Amby.

The only time me (my family) owned an SUV, it was a real one.
The Thar 4x4 CRDe in 2015, used it for a couple of years.
It's always been hatchbacks or sedans otherwise for us.

This, if true, is really exciting.
I know that Citroen has full potential to mess it up when it comes to features, pricing, specs, no automatics, etc. etc.
But just the fact that they are considering a cross sedan, man I have to applaud them.

If I am still doing what I do, and if I am at that launch event, if this is real, I would clap the loudest.

And I wouldn't want it to be called an Ambassador. Let that name rest in peace.

Yes! This has the potential to be called 'Ambassador' as the design somewhat resembled the dated Ambassador and as the trademark lies with the PSA, now Stellantis, of which is Citroen is a part of.

While the quirky styling works fine for tall body structures, it just looks childish on sedan body style- ex: that extra C cut on the front door! Hope they tone it down for production version.

The design somehow doesn't work for me , but as a Sedan guy I for sure can't wait for the segment to see action again. Hoping to see some beautiful Mazda and Peugeot sedans in India someday.

My dad was looking at a Fronx/Vitara/Kushaq as a replacement for his Duster, and he's willing to abandon all of them for this - and he's not even fond of sedans. I really hope Citroen brings it and most importantly, price and spec it correctly.

This is rather interesting.
Sedans are usually associated with comfort and luxury. Even sub compacts like Aura and Dzire are loaded to gills with features.
And Citroen is strongly insistent on providing bare bones cars except C5.

I wonder how this would turn out for them. I don't think they could get away with this without providing all the bells and whistles especially in a segment consisting of Virtus, City and Verna.

If this is launched in India, i would be the first to buy. I love those looks. It looks the best amongst all the sedans on sale here. Hope they launch the top variant with all bells and whistles. Tired of seeing boring Honda City and Ciaz on roads. Would never buy one of them. Can't live with niggles and ASS of VW and Skoda. As a sedan lover in India have nothing interesting to buy.

I am planning for the C3 Aircross or maybe the EV variant. Future is exciting, I can have an entire fleet of vehicles based on C3 doing multiple duties. This for sure is the most practical iteration where you get huge boot space with coupe like body style.

The CC22 sedan was caught testing last year, near FCA's Betim plan in Brazil.

Can't make out much because of heavy camouflage.

While the car in the picture does look good, pls note that it is the C4X that is pictured here - for representational purposes by Autocar. So C3X may end up looking and feeling a bit different.

Citroen C4 sold in Europe will be the inspiration for the C3X:







Brazil:

It should be positioned closer to the C3 Aircross than the C3, using the same engines. Thus, it should be produced with the 1.6 aspirated four-cylinder, delivering 120 hp; and with Fiat's 1.0-liter three-cylinder turbocharged 130 hp. Just as it was with the other two cars in the C-Cubed project, it is yet to debut an electric version for the Indian market.

As it will have a fastback rear inspired by the European C4X, it will even have an SUV-coupe face, but not as much as the Fiat Fastback, for example.
