Swift VXi 2011, the non VVT one.
With only two of us onboard, managed 15 kmpl on Blr-Chennai highway with 100% AC.
In city, I get about 12 with 50% AC.

TVS Wego, just got its first service done, before got 39, after, expecting 45.

Mod Note : Team-BHP strongly discourages unsafe driving practices that put yourself and other road users at risk. Please do NOT post about illegally high speeds on public roads.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

I would like to get first hand information from the owners and experts alike, what is the maximum fuel efficiency (kmpl) than I can expect from the diesel Innova. I believe the ARAI certified mileage is somewhere around 13 kmpl, but then is this the maximum mileage that we can expect in ideal driving conditions? (e.g 4 laned road, sparse traffic, driving steadily @ 70-80 kmph)

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Figo Petrol (Titanium)
Average FE: 12.8 kmpl (43,000 km) - 90% city driving.

On highways, I have observed FE of 15-16kmpl.

Using aCar to maintain complete fuel log since purchase of the car.

I have owned both 2006 Euro3 and 2011 Euro4 Innova. On Euro3, city mileage is 11 kmpl and highway is 13.5 kmpl. On Euro4, City mileage is 11.5-12 and highway is 14.5. This is in Bangalore traffic condition and highway speeds of 100-120.

There was once where my wife drove the Euro4 car at 80-90 kmpl on highway, during that drive the mileage was 16.5.

Both cars had done 1.2 lakh km. In a nutshell if driven for mileage, you could stretch up to 17 if you are talking about 70-80.

That is quite some useful piece of information and thank you vishnugs for sharing it. This proves that if driven sedately, Innova is not a gas guzzler. If I am lucky enough, I could get hold of the 2011, BS1V version of the Innova.

I have a 2009 Innova and

a) the Max I have got on a 60 km ride where I drove at around 50kmph was nearly 20 kmpl +.

b) @ 70-80 kmph, I get around 14-15 kmpl

c) but if i drive normally (with a heavy foot) the FE is same in city and highway...nearly 10.5- 11.5 kmpl with highway speeds around 120kmph

Driving discipline changes the mileage a lot in this car..the 2.5 litre engine starts guzzling fuel with heavy acclerator inputs!

Is the city efficiency without AC? The figure you stated is above the normal figure many get in city with AC use most of the times.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Mostly yes. 32k km driven in Hyderabad with AC always on. 12k km in Pune was driver with AC partly on.
Also 90% city driving 10% highway.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

My car's FE varies between 14 - 17 in the city, and 20 - 22 on highways. I have tested both auto cut off and full tank method.

Either way, take the average of at least four tests.

Thank you for sharing your experience Buffetfan. 20kmpl for a 2.5 litre engine if phenomenal. Obviously one cannot keep on driving that way whole day, but this have given me good hint about the capability of this engine. In the Innova the peak torque occurring at low revs must be giving this car good tractability and ability to drive in higher gears at low revs.
