Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

My 2010 Maruti WagonR K10 gives me consistent mileage of 12 - 13 kmpl in (Mumbai) city driving conditions with AC on for 50% of the time.

I always follow the tank full to tank full method & clearly instruct the petrol pump attendent to stop filling after auto cut-off.

On highways the mileage improves to 17+ kmpl.

Thanks,

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

An amazing fuel efficiency figure that a 2005 Corolla + Sequential CNG kit can achieve if driven with a light foot. (As consistently experienced by my FIL)

100% Highway running with A/C on 100% of the times - 25kmpl!

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

My 9 year old Chevrolet Optra 1.6 LS, with 195/60 14" MRF Z.L.O's, with 100% A.C returns around 10-11 km-pl in the city.

Calculated using tankful to tankful method. Fuel used - Shell Normal Unleaded from the same bunk every time. Pretty decent I'd say. Although, I do drive with a very light foot. Spirited driving only very rarely, when the roads are empty

That's 25kmpkg (CNG mode) .

No doubt an efficient car like the Corolla can easily report such figures. My boss would claim 10+ kmpl on Corolla Automatic & his driver managed 11+ kmpl in regular Delhi traffic. I never had doubt that this car can't manage such figures on the highway on CNG.

BTW I manage 30 kmpkg on the Santro Xing on highway, even if I'm not driving sedate, & almost 100% AC. In winters, I drive faster yet manage these figures .

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Hey, I have a 2005 Corolla which has done 94K kms now. In a mild city traffic I am consistently getting mileage of 12+ kmpL with AC on for 90% of times. This car is an incredible combination of power & efficiency

There is a shortage of CNG pumps in Pune. I have friends who wait for 1-2 hours in a queue to tank up their CNG cars. But with the kind of mileage I get, I ain't complaining.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

I Generally fill gas until auto cut off. I then refill it back at the same gas station and in the same booth to calculate the gas usage and distance driven to get the mileage. The averages have been calculated with a driving distance of atleast 200 kms

The Vehicles whose Fuel efficiency I kept track of are as below

Maruthi 800 ( 1995 model Petrol )

Best Highway Efficiency : 23 kmpl with no AC
Average Highway Efficiency: 20-22 kmpl with no AC

Best City Efficiency : Didn't keep track of that
Average City Efficiency : 12-14 kmpl

* as per 2004

Chevrolet Spark ( 2007 model Petrol)

Best Highway Efficiency : 24 kmpl without AC
Average Highway Efficiency: 21-23 kmpl without AC

Best City Efficiency : 15 kmpl without AC and average trafffic speed of 30 kmph
Average City Efficiency : 13 kmpl with 50% AC and average traffic speed of 30 kmph

XUV 5OO ( 2012 Model Diesel)

Best Highway Efficiency : 19 kmpl with 100% AC
Average Highway efficiency: 16-17 kmpl with 100% AC

Best City Efficiency : 13 kmpl with 50% AC and average traffic speed of 30 kmph
Average City Efficiency : 11 kmpl with 100% AC and average traffic speed of 30 kmph

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Car: Swift VDi @ 40K
City: 17-18 kmpl
Hway: 23-24 kmpl

Both tankful to tankful with minimal A/C and driven sedately (80-120).

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Also K10- 12.5K kms.
NCR Traffic- East Delhi to Gurgaon and back- 15 kmpl with 50% ac.
Mixed North Indian highway- NH 24- Bareilly drive- 17.5 Kmpl with full ac and continuous 90-100 kmph speed. I am ok with the FE but feel a slightly bigger engine like say the K12 of the Swift would deliver a slightly better mileage under the same conditions.I do a lot of engine braking and race-style changes.
