Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Just completed a triple digit fill up on the LX470: 25 gallons at $4.10 per, with a grand fuel economy of 11 miles per (US) gallon, or about 4.7 km per liter.

Shorts trips in cold weather are a real killer for fuel consumption.

26.65 is fantastic. what do you do to achieve this? Or was it a one off time?

How I achieved it is
  • easy on the throttle not rapid acceleration at all, no unnecessary revving.
  • Climb up the gears as quickly as possible without lugging the engine.
  • Maintain speeds between 80-100 kmph.
  • This reading did not have the A/C on
It is definitely not a one off case, as I got 26.01, 25.62, 25.00 kmpl and 22+ quite a few times. Some of these readings also had AC on for about 10-20% of the time. However, no AC on when the car is accelerating from standstill.

Highway trip in the LS430, cruising mostly around 80 mph (130 kmph): 487 miles in 18.9 US gallons, for an overall consumption of 25.8 mpg (11 kmpl). (Some mileage was in the city.)

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

The first 2 tankfuls (Approx 1300 km) of my new 320d with somewhat limited spirited driving is giving me a fairly good 12.8 kmpl! Am pleased All of this is in city driving.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

SX4 ZXI | 45000 kms | 9.5 - 10.5kmpl in the city with 100% AC on

Toyota Fortuner | ~ 25000 kms | 10.5 kmpl in the city, 11.5-12.5 kmpl outside the city (AC on 95% of the time); 11.5 kmpl usually happens when I am driving fast or when I need to offroad. It is possible to get > 12.5kmpl, but I will have to drive too sedately :-)

Worst: 15Kmpl
Best: 19.5 on Pune - Goa Road with spirited drive. 80kmph was the average speed.
