Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

SX4-ZXi, 1.6 Petrol, purchased December 2010
Average 1500Kms per month, 50% on highway. AC almost always on.
Getting between 10-11 Kms/Ltr regularly, depending also from where fuel has been filled.
Not bad I guess for a large car.

Etios Petrol

These are some of the figures I recorded

1) ORR Drive (pathetic stop go, avg 15kmph) - 11.5 kmpl
2) Silk board to Old madras road and back in peak hr (avg 35) - 15 kmpl
3) Highway BLR - Tirupati - Hills - Bangalore (I touched upto 145 constantly above 100) - 16.8 kmpl - measured tank fill to tank fill
4) Hosur Road (pretty good except for signals, avg 55) - 21 kmpl

City : 11.5-15 kmpl based on the traffic conditions
Highway : 16-21 based on the speed

I have recently booked Punto 1.3 EP Diesel and now thinking to change to 90HP model. The sales guy was telling me the FE is bad for this so searched on this thread and got this old post.
Anyone can urgently tell me if FE on the 90HP is really bad or acceptable (I think I would accept if getting 16kmpl on highway with ACC on and speeds about 110Km/hr.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

'07 Jeep diesel
I usually drive with the AC on, in the city it averages about 9L/100km = 11 km per L. On long drives (I do this about 3-4 times a month), its about 7L/100 km = 14 km/L. Not bad for a Jeep actually.

My dad's new C250 CDI has the best figures, he actually gets 20 km/L in the city.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Hey what should be decent acceptable FE for the Innova diesel in city traffic of Delhi with 100% AC on. I get around 10.5 - 11 kmpl even though I drive with a very light foot and mostly my car's rpm needle never crosses 2500 rpm. And that leaves me a tad disappointed because I feel in that case the mileage returned should be atleast 12-13.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

tankful to tankful

a) 282 km -mostly ghat roads (paderu/araku etc)
b) rest highway (nh5, next day drive)

ac about 25 percent of the time

total dist dist 450 km
fuel cons 33.76 ltrs

avg 13.329 km/ltr

make - scorpio crde 2.6 (clan of the aft/rear coil spring suspension) 2008 born 65300 km young

is the tankful to tankful an accurate method, i mean the figures are way beyond my expectation. i was like - hmm 10 is fine, any scorpio owners get something like this - i mean above 13 or so?

Thats good mileage for the Scorp indeed! What was your average speed during the whole run and would it made a big difference in case you had 100% a/c on (considering ghats etc). Also curious to know if you have recorded the figures for the normal city run and how does it fare with other Scorps!

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Ride: Vista SaFiRE 65 Aura 2010.
Total Kms till date - 28900.
Engine Drinks - Petrol.

FE - 14.5 kmpl City <50% AC.
12-13 kmpl City 100% AC.
16 kmpl highway 100%AC.
18 kmpl highway <50% AC.

The above FE is calculated using Tankfull (cutoff) method, over a decently long period of time so chances of error are low.

Also, with Shell Super my FE increases by 0.5kmpl to 1kmpl consistently.

Car almost always has me+1 person. I do not drive sedately. Engine is redlined sometimes... (well, atleast three times a day)

Highway speeds range between 80kmph to 130 kmph.
City - well, city speeds.
