If one looks at the FE numbers published by SIAM which contains the FE numbers for BSIII and BSIV, it is seen that BSIV FE is less than BSIII FE for all cars. What can be the reason for this?

Not sure if this has been discussed already in some other thread.

Santro and Corolla are equally fuel efficient?

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Well, its not only my car even my office colleague who still uses a Corolla gives out 13 KMPL in same Chennai. It all depends upon the way you drive, the higher you rev your engine the lower is the fuel efficiency. Corolla with its VVTI Petrol engine is very much efficient when compared with other petrol heads.

Other Corolla owners - Kindly share you Mileage to clear the ambiguity.

Yeah I can vouch for that,15 kmpl on the highway is like yaaaaaaaawn.
once mine gave 19 kmpl , but I was in a different state of mind then,driving concsiously for max FE. My corolla however does not give above 11-12 in city (although never measured systematically).But that maybe because I have shorter runs of 4-5 kms.
@camchennai - is it 1.3 lac kms??
just realised we have the same avatar

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

My Fiat Punto MJD just did a trip of 1700 km (Mumbai - Pune - Goa and back).

It has given an overeall mileage of 20.2 kmpl with 60% on highways and the rest in small town traffic conditions (bad roads as well)

The best that my Punto has given fo far is 28 kmpl from Pume to Mumbai...

driving speed would have been in the range of 90-100 kmph... quite steady and safe... and economical too
