Volkswagen has made some changes to its flagship SUV, the Tiguan. It now gets updated interiors and feature lists.



The updated Tiguan is available with dual-tone 'Storm Grey' interiors and comes with a wireless mobile charger, which was not part of the standard package until now. The SUV is priced at Rs 34.69 lakh (ex-showroom).



The Volkswagen Tiguan is powered by a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that puts out 187 BHP @ 4,200-6,000 rpm and 320 Nm @ 1,500-4,100 rpm. The engine is mated with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and an all-wheel drive system.



The Tiguan also comes equipped with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 10-inch digital instrument cluster. The SUV also gets Level 1 ADAS, which includes the Park Assist feature. It enables the driver to park the SUV with the push of a button. The feature guides the driver through tricky spots while they focus on the pedals.

Particularly like the clean, crisp and fuss free styling. Will age gracefully with time.
Which gearbox does this use? The wet clutch DQ-250?

It uses a variation of DQ381. It is a seven speed wet clutch gearbox.

I wonder how this cars performance compares with that of the petrol XUV700, as they are similar atleast on power figures. Going by anecdotal evidence the 700 petrol is quite a beast.

Hi Team, Ive got a response from VW dealer confirming on mail (with VW customer care ) saying that OBD2 vehicles are E20 compliant however they do not have stickers to put E20 ! How lame is that mail attached. How much can we trust this ?

Thanks for sharing the email. I am also behind this E20 compliance for Tiguan.

Last Sunday went for Tiguan experience drive and spoke to VW folks. They also said same - even though E20 stickers are not there, OBD2 version is E20 compliant. They have received internal circular from VW. It seems they have asked dealers to share email also to that effect.

The reason they say is they cannot change anything in CKD kit which they receive from Germany even the stickers. They are trying to get it changed from Germany end but it takes its own time.

But very strange and not sure whether to trust.

Did they show you the internal circular VW ? Same messaging across geographies. May be this is coming from VW then.

Request to Mods : can you try and reach out to VW India leadership and clarify this for us members.

No, they did not share the circular. I told them same, if it is E20, share the circular so that it will be assuring for customers rather than dealer email
