Valid points.

But overall, all this "discussion" above is based on two pics of the pickup. There is no news from Force itself about planned launch or planned target segment. If this pickup is for the Defence, then the integrated load bay should still be fine for one reason that the Defence does not load up vehicles, unlike in the commercial segment. The points that Shankar mentions about flex under load are more applicable in the commercial segment where vehicles are overloaded more often than not. Defence vehicles are not mis-treated this way - they need to be reliable on rough terrain for a rated load, which is always below even the manufacturer specified load levels.

Re: Pics: Force Gurkha Pickup Truck

Force already had a pick-up range for the commercial segment (though not very successful)

Wonder why they want to dilute the Gurkha brand instead of using the existing pick-up platform (with separation between cabin and loading bay)

In the BS4 era Force Motors used to have a pick-up called Force Kargo. Surprisingly the web page is still up though the model has been stopped (Link)

The vehicle was a rare sight (At least in Tamilnadu and Kerala)

Force unveiled its successor Kargo King Grand at Auto Expo 2020 (TBhp Link) (Force Motors @ Auto Expo 2020)

Off Topic/Trivia:

In the BS3 era Force had an abomination called Force Trump(link) that looked like a bad cross between Ape Truk(TBhp Link) (Piaggio Ape Truk launched) and Mahindra Gio(link).

While the Mahindra Gio and Ape Truk were to compete with segment leader Tata Ace , the Force Trump was more powerful and probably expected to compete against the Ashok Leyland Dost.

Needless to say all 3(Gio, Truk and Trump) were duds.

That was the first thing I searched when the Gurkha pickup pic came out, but the website doesn't seem to list the pickup, though the link you shared works. Rare, but can see both the Kargo and Trump sometimes around my area. Rare, but definitely common than something like the Bolero Camper.

Trump and Kargo are not listed in the commercial vehicle section of Force Motors website (probably because it’s not manufactured anymore). However google search reveals the pages (though official Force Motors page doesn’t make it to top of search list).

I am guessing the IT wing of force motors simply hid/removed the links to Trump and Kargo in their main website but forgot to take down the pages. (Easter Egg for weird automobile aficionados)
