1. Filling majorly XP95 and Power95 from COCO. I can feel the engine sound difference when filled with other petrol(shell Power V).

2. Auto breaking - I also experienced it initially a couple of times and almost felt someone hit and my jaw dropped. It's a safety measure built in to avoid collisions at low speeds. It happens in reverse gear, also. Not to worry.

3. I have not paid attention to the engine stopping when Auto Hold is switched off. I rarely do it as one needs to put one foot on break when the Auto hold is off.

This is news. I always thought the passenger air bag was ON.

By the way, Shell Power V is 91 Octane and better be avoided if it's the recently bought Kodiaqs which suggests 95 Octane as minimum grade required and Octane 98 Octane as recommended.

Surprisingly the staff at service centers say any petrol is fine.

There are locations outside Bangalore where I trust Shell only. These are usually filled at one of those days. I am yet to get over the trust issues of IOCL/HP petrol bunks.

This was flat on ex-showroom and not OTR. Rest everything is extra. You can get insurance from outside to further reduce the amount.

Good luck for your purchase
Which city if I may ask? Raj Skoda in Bangalore is offering me a cash discount of 2.5 lakhs for 2023 model L&K. Do you think I can bargain for more?

Re: 2023 Skoda Kodiaq 4x4 launched at Rs 37.99 lakh

Hey folks- Just Dad just booked a black Kodiaq from Ring Road Skoda in Gurgaon. We did the PDI covering the fundamentals, but I was not aware of this E20 issue ie some vehicles could not be compliant. The model is ofc 2.0 TSI OBD2 in Magic Black.
Are some of you facing issues with normal fuel 91RON if your vehicle is not E20 compliant? Even my Polo mentioned 95RON but I never actually bothered and never faced an issue. I will read up on this, but just thought I'd pick everyones experienced brain here as well. Thanks!

If a vehicle manufacturer recommends a particular RON, make sure to fill it with up the recommended octane rated fuel as the cylinders are likely to be calibrated for fuel with that particular octane rating for the compression cycle. It will not harm to go for a regular fill once in a while, but ideally stick to manufacturer recommendations.
Change in octane will not cause an immediate effect, but would rather be a gradual impact to the engine components, occasional misfires etc so not that easy to identify on a short or medium term (Unless one is extremely unlucky)

Since you have booked the Kodiaq recently, it will be E20 compatible as Kodiaq kits older than July 2023 are known to be E20 compatible. The current batches are either Aug 2023, or Dec 2023 kits. You can check this when doing the PDI by looking inside the petrol lid cover.

Thanks a lot for clarifying. I have asked the showroom to confirm E20 compatibility and should get an answer soon. FYI the vehicle alloted to me is Oct 2023 manufactured.

All MY23 (Manufactured Year 2023) Skoda Kodiaqs are E20 compliant, though the stickers were pasted in vehicles which were Manufactured beyond June/July 2023. So the vehicles manufactured before June/July 2023, but if it had a VIN of 2023 manufactured vehicle it too is a E20 compliant vehicle. The reson being the they could paste the stickers only after getting the certification officially completed. This was clarified by Skoda Product Team directly at Bangalore when they had come for a product drive/demo session.

RON 95 fuel remains as the minimum quality that must be used as recommended by Skoda.

While all the Skodas are E20 material compliant, for engine being E20 compliant this was something I came across-

Agree, there is a "Minimum' and a 'Recommended' RON clearly stated in the owners' manual and the fuel lid. Please stick to the 'Minimum' at least so as to avoid any issues.

As it is, the changing ethanol blending needs to be factored in by the ECU. Better to avoid RON changes too.

Thanks for your views on the recommended fuel to be used.
Got the delivery yesterday. And even after all this discussion, filled regular petrol 😂
However, I've found a pump right next to my house with XP95, so going forward will stick to it.

Also the Kodiaq I got was E20 complaint. It had the lid sticker.
