Can go on and on, but, what would you buy, a base C3 Aircross or the Swift Zxi+ ?
While I agree with you , the big omission in your comparison is "service" in which maruti scores five stars consistently and the Indian public consider quite an important factor in their decision ,if not the most important one. Citroen in this regard is still an unknown quantity , what is known is that they have just a handful of service centers so far.

So I think quite a few would consider a Swift over aircross.

I , myself like the aircross quite a lot and really wish Citroen adds a few essential features like ACC and projector headlamps. I am willing to consider this as a future replacement of my diesel Ford aspire.

Re: Citroen C3 Aircross : A Close Look

Senior Leadership: C3 is doing pathetic. It is probably because even though it looked like a Micro SUV, we explicitly called it as a hatchback. Positioning was wrong. We should be cautious with C3 Aircross.

Citroen India Head : Say no more. I know how we can fix this.

*Names the new car C3 Aircross "SUV" right at licence plate*

Jokes apart, I hope this is just the nameplate and launch fiasco but the badgings stays right!

Re: Citroen C3 Aircross : A Close Look

Exterior design seems good for most of the part ...
But interiors seem to be lacking also basic features missing
Decade old interiors wont work .
Even maruti is offering better interiors now...

AT will be coming. Its introduction is not far.

Six airbags will be introduced as per Indian regulations (I presume when the six airbag rule comes into effect).

The car complies with the 64 kph test.

It might not garner the volumes but shall be close to all who land up buying one and this RIP, Feature mentality has already killed many a brands like the Chevy, Ford, Fiat etc.

To me, this would make a fantastic 5 seater, way better off than most of the hatchbacks sold, just that they price it right.

Please appreciate what they are offering and what the product is, simply writing it off does not serve any good.

It's the Engine, Chassis and Shell that should call out the fate of a car not it's features, sad part is, most of us are unappreciative of this fact & & on all of the above 3 reasons stated, this thing shall be better off than most of the DUN§ sold in our market.

Can go on and on, but, what would you buy, a base C3 Aircross or the Swift Zxi+ ?

While I respect your opinion here is my short response:

Firstly, I mentioned about Citroen being an unknown brand in the Indian market. Now an unknown brand launching a car with lack of basic features like for an example automatic, is it too much to ask for? I also mentioned since it doesn't have a feature rich usp or being a known it should at least have a sound safety rating. We can't comment on the chassis and shell hence I placed my doubt which is reasonable.

About brands exiting India, well it is due to their own peril, either they couldn't adjust with the market here or had their own issues. Hence I am perfectly reasonable with my opinion the this car doesn't have a future if it doesn't tick any of the parameters like safety, feature rich or brand worthiness.

That's why in the end of my comment I mentioned hope they up their game with the safety at least which will make it a compelling car since it is a good looking car and the ride quality for Citroen cars is mostly great.

Re: Citroen C3 Aircross : A Close Look

I for one, look forward to this launch. With an AT on offer (whenever it comes), I would simply buy this for my daily run to work or weekend errands. I can trade in my existing car after 2 years for a Thar 5 door and have this as a 2nd car.

Re: Citroen C3 Aircross : A Close Look

This car will neither be a chart-topper, nor a dead-on-arrival product. If C3 (with a slightly lower set of features and unknown Safety rating) can sell around 800-900 units monthly, C3 Aircross can do better than C3. It should be just enough to keep Citroen afloat for a while in the Indian market.

Re: Citroen C3 Aircross : A Close Look

Citroen C3 Aircross to be sold in one trim only.

At launch, it will only get a manual gearbox, with the automatic expected to come later.

Citroen will launch the C3 Aircross with just one powertrain – a 110hp, 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox – in a fully loaded Max trim that will be offered in both five- and seven-seater configurations.

So, they have started faltering again! Only 1 trim means, no entry level pricing which means only people who will consider this will be the ones who are considering the C3 (hatchback).

All the best Citroen. Your management is clearing smoking some good stuff!

Re: Citroen C3 Aircross : A Close Look

Couldn't someone from the management, PR or communications department align that number-plate properly? Such an eyesore. A major public showing and no one noticed this? It's like having your fly open at your own wedding reception.

Hope the car does well. We need more competition. Citroens are superbly engineered (love the C3 turbo-petrol and its suspension), but they're missing the market on features & pricing.

Re: Citroen C3 Aircross : A Close Look

Unlike C3, they are equipping C3 Aircross decently. According to ACI, Citroen is equipping this car with the following features:
  • Halogen headlamps
  • LED Daytime Running Lamps
  • 17-inch diamond cut alloys
  • Front fog lamps
  • Dual-tone paint shades (optional)
  • Removable third-row seats
  • 10.25-inch touchscreen
  • 7-inch digital instrument cluster
  • Wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto
  • 4 speakers + 2 tweeters
  • Steering mounted audio, phone controls
  • Connected car tech
  • Manual AC with heater
  • Roof-mounted rear AC vents (7-seater only)
  • One-touch auto up/down for all four power windows
  • Keyless entry
  • Electrically adjustable wing mirrors
  • Tilt adjustable steering
  • Manual height adjust for driver’s seat
  • Rear defogger, wiper and washer
  • Rear centre arm rest (5-seater only)
  • Dual Airbags
  • ABS, EBD, ESP
  • Hill hold assist
  • Tyre pressure monitoring system
  • Reverse camera and sensors
So, pricing is going to be the deciding factor.

Game now moved on, from Nexon and Brezza segment to the next segment. Once a segment with limited options to choose from, is suddenly exploding. Now one will get to choose from Maruti, Toyota, Hyundai, Kia, Skoda, VW, MG and Honda, the only players missing are Tata, Mahindra, Renault and Nissan. Interesting developments in the segment.

Does it miss out on the most sought after and favorite feature of Indian buyers currently - the Sunroof?

Re: Citroen C3 Aircross : A Close Look

It's insane that they AGAIN botched it up (I mean pretty much every part of it screams botched) with no Auto! It's a huge deciding factor for a lot of people. C'mon Citroen, how hard can it be to have a proper auto box? Especially when you want to compete in one of the toughest segments?

Re: Citroen C3 Aircross : A Close Look

C3 was launched without a proper top variant and C3 aircross with only one fully-loaded variant. Looks like Citroen is expecting a Scorpio N kind of response to this car and is focused on the top variant alone. :-D
