Fast forward 1.5 years since Ford's exit, and the company still cares about its customers

Fast forward one and a half years since Ford's exit and the company still cares about it's existing Indian customers.

Although Ford did promise us service assistance for a decade:
Ford customers assured of service for the next ten years.
Service operations to continue in 240 cities, out of the current 258 cities.
Ford has fixed prices for consumables and spare parts for next five years
.

Majority of Ford service centers are still functional, Ford parts stores: that sell parts only, are still functional, each and every part is still available including some of the very minute ones like ABS stickers(costs Rs. 80, probably the cheapest Ford part available).

Service center experience is still the same, service charges are still the same, Ford Flexi plans are still available. Service centers in Tier 2 cities like Kanchipuram are still functional.
Sarvesh Ford Kanchipuram, had a good experience with them.

Ford owners are still willing to pay decent sums of money to keep their Fords running. Got my Ford serviced from a service center 15 kms from home(Chennai Ford, Arumbakkam) last August- the car was picked up from home and dropped back after the service(30kms to and fro).
Who doesn't like such updates over message.

New generation Ford Endeavours are still listed for 25-30L+ in the used car market(don't know if those sell for the quoted price), older Fords like the first generation Ford Fiesta (pre-facelift) are still found in plenty in decent condition on the roads. Ford service centers are always brimming with cars(probably due to the scarcity of service centers, but still).

Overall a healthy situation for Ford owners. I have read and am aware of the fact that some owners did not have a good experience with Ford service centers even with much modern cars, but my experience, after Ford's exit, with both Sarvesh Ford Kanchipuram and Chennai Ford Arumbakkam have been uneventful.

Hope Ford continues to serve their customers in the same healthy manner for years to come.

I own a Figo 1.5 with DCT and am very happy with Suryabala Ford Service in coimbatore. Very professional. I wouldn't hesitate to buy a used Ford if the price was right.

Owning a ford Aspire has been a pleasure and fuss free experience till now. It is a solidly built car and in about to hit 50k mark I never had any sort of serious issue from the car. Might not have the most gadgets in the car, which I don't care much about anyways. But whatever it has is durable. Service experience also has been great. I wish they return soon to the indian market again (so that I can exchange my aspire with whatever they have that time !!)

Re: Fast forward 1.5 years since Ford's exit, and the company still cares about its customers

I have an EcoSport Petrol (1.0 EcoBoost) from 2019. My car has been serviced in West Bengal & Karnataka. The service has been stellar. Absolutely zero complaints. Very good staff behaviour & parts availability.

I had cracked the windshield on the highway, was replaced in 4 days. Also, the annual maintenance costs have been around INR3500 from 2021.

Great job ford, I hope it stays this way.

The experience from Dhone Ford is quite good too. I have got my Ecosport serviced from Dhone Ford so far and they have done a very good job till now. The service costs are the same as they were when Ford was active, so I will keep the Ecosport for 2-3 years more and then replace it. Overall, I am also satisfied with the service so far, despite Ford’s exit.

Re: Fast forward 1.5 years since Ford's exit, and the company still cares about its customers

Would somewhat agree with OP. My service experience with Ford Aspire 2019 is still same in terms of costs, ease of warranty replacements, prompt customer care response team and free home pick and drop.

One thing that has deteriorated is prompt availability of spare parts at FASS. Even is Delhi I have had to wait for some basic spare parts for more than 2 weeks. Secondly, have had some minor niggles every now and then leading to service center visits outside of PMS services. But still very happy with what Ford has achieved post their exit. They even gave ads in prime time slots like Shark Tank only to highlight the fact that they still there for existing Ford lovers which speaks volumes about company's commitment to it's loyal customers. Wish they had an equally good plan to fight out in the Indian car market and not take the exit route.

Re: Fast forward 1.5 years since Ford's exit, and the company still cares about its customers

I have been thinking of picking up a late model Fiesta and I am encouraged by this. I usually am only interested in availability of parts because I prefer my FNG/friend of 40+ years to do my automotive repairs. Knowing that the company still assures the supply is maintained is good.

Off topic - looking at that last photo you posted is triggering my OCD! Cars parked across the markings of the parking area is one of my bugbears.

Re: Fast forward 1.5 years since Ford's exit, and the company still cares about its customers

The experience with Dhone Ford Warje, Pune has been very good for me. I had enrolled for 2 Years' Service Flexi Plan in Mar '22 and it was seamlessly executed for this year's service (Rs. 25XX bill this year!). No extra services like AC duct cleaning/underbody coating/etc forced at all. They even reported regular updates via SMS and shared videos of engine oil being drained and replaced!

Last summer, my Ecosport's windshield got cracked by a stone on highway. It was replaced perfectly well within the estimated timelines (with regular updates on the progress like fitting, drying, water-leakage testing, minor repainting etc).

The last two BS6 CATCON-related recalls were executed well too. No weird jerks from my Ecosport anymore. Now it is smooth as ever.

Overall, I'm very satisfied with the way Ford is handling things so far.

Re: Fast forward 1.5 years since Ford's exit, and the company still cares about its customers

I own a 2016 Figo 1.5 DCT and am very happy with Ford service at PPS Yelahanka. My car was serviced a week ago and apart from the regular service, the source of a few creaks and rattles was tracked down to missing bushings during a test drive by the SA and promptly replaced. Costs were very reasonable as usual.

In comparison I dropped off my wife's Hyundai Xcent AT for service a few days ago and the cost of routine service was 2X what I paid for my Figo.

Re: Fast forward 1.5 years since Ford's exit, and the company still cares about its customers

Owner of a diesel Aspire here and there are three Ford dealers that I've dealt with in my state, Harry Ford in Trivandrum, Malabar Ford in Calicut and Karali Ford in pretty much every district in the state.

I'd say the experience is pretty decent. I cannot say that it has been groundbreaking, but there has been no noticeable decline in quality of service before and after Ford's exit. SCs which have an average reputation still have an average reputation and SCs which a good reputation still have a good reputation.

I have an annoying problem in my Aspire of a rattle from somewhere inside the dashboard (or from some component in the engine bay). It sounds very similar to the sound produced by a bad steering rack. It can't be the steering rack because I've replaced the entire assembly late last year, and have confirmed in multiple dealerships that it's not the new rack that's at fault. And I ruled it out completely when, by chance, one day I found out that this sound only comes on when I have the AC on. I tried going over a bad road stretch to and fro, once with the AC switched on and once with it off and that confirmed it. I have pointed it out to the SC but so far they have not been able to pinpoint what's at fault.

But apart from that, solid car, solid engine. In the past year, it has been driven for 20,000 kms sedately and aggressively and it has been solid. No issues, touch wood.
What an amazing performer this little diesel engine is!

This engine paired with the 1st gen Figo would have been a match made in heaven.

Did you know that Chennai Ford Arumbakkam is moving to a new place? The current place is now being leased out for a Kia Showroom + Service center.

OT: Still on the fence. The Scorpio is still booked but a few 2018 Endeavours are in my budget.

Only thing is that, whenever I mention the 3.2, parents get into a fight with me regarding service and parts and end up saying "you are welcomed to waste your hard-earned money"

Re: Fast forward 1.5 years since Ford's exit, and the company still cares about its customers

A colleague of mine owns the Figo Freestyle. Unfortunately, it met with an accident in first week of March 2023 where it rear-ended a Creta. The car is with Harpreet Ford, Gurgaon since 6th March and the radiator is yet to arrive. Ford India is also not able to give a firm date for the part availability. I was amazed that it has taken so long. The way they service centre is behaving is also weird. My colleague is the one who is following up continuously. I had a Ford Figo (1st Generation) for 9 years and covered ~120,000 KM. During all those 9 years, my car was serviced at this ASC only. I never had an issue.
