Re: Force Citiline | 10-seater MUV with all front facing seats | Launched at Rs 15.93L

If there is a slightly better equipped variant on offer, this should work well with commercial users in the city too. The price difference between this and the urbania is significant and it makes a strong case when a full family needs a cab on rent for more than 6 people. But force needs to up the game with their after sales and QC to boost sales.

4x4 12 seater is rather impressive. Getting only 90hp out of a 2.6L diesel engine is lame.

Give it some beefier tyres and a 150-180hp mhawk diesel it would be insane. It would truly be one of a kind because where else in the world can you buy a 12 seater 4x4 suv? Only thing lacking is that it is built to be as low cost as possible.

Don't underestimate the value of aesthetics; everyone wants their vehicle to look good. Even the autorickshaw guy.

I can't be the only one out here thinking this extended MUV has the potential to look handsome .

That also says a lot about its toughness & durability, no?
Absolutely. This Toofan or Citiline or whatever they want to call it, is a super impressive people carrier.
It’s just that Force Motors despite their Mercedes Benz connections and all, seem to be simply unable to get their act together in terms of Sales, Marketing, Service and Consumer Engagement.
They have good vehicles. But badly let down because of lack of the above traits.

I also like the looks of this Force Wagon. It reminds me a lot of the Landrover in Tintin and the Picaros. Especially because of the window quarter glass design and overall boxy look.
And yes indeed, if one were to strip the interiors out and completely re-kit it and jazz up the suspension and put some nice meaty tyres on good alloys and all, this vehicle can become a fantastic overlander.

Re: Force Citiline | 10-seater MUV with all front facing seats | Launched at Rs 15.93L

I actually like this vehicle.

1. Its a 7 seater SUV with space for everyone’s check-in suitcase and more. Dont forget the roof rack capability.
2. Its a 10 seater SUV with space for weekend luggage on the roof.
3. Its a 5 seater SUV with space to live in the car without a tent. Ged rid of extra seats. Get yourself some bio toilets and get moving.
4. Its 2/3 seater SUV with a moving garage.
5. Can be used as a hearse.
6. Ambulance variant already exists.

I cannot understand why the power is capped at 90 bhp though. What would be the rpm at 100kmph and 120kmph?

Actually with this you probably wont even need a roof tent, just remove the last two or three rows according to your usage, because you dont sleep and eat at the same time, it can be folded or tucked away.

Spot on. Also, the higher roof means you can have a base kitchen setup and a mobile mattress setup on the top and still have enough space to sit and move around. And as GTO said above, make some mods, rebadge a little, add some chrome and you are golden!

Correction , not just north, I see tons of KA and AP/TS registered Trax Toofans plying here during the Sabarimala season. The speeds they go are insane. That means this has got a huge market in these two southern states. In Kerala , I guess people prefer its sibling, Tempo Traveller.

The maintenance costs of these vans/jeeps are also cheap. The parts are also easily available and cheap.

This is as long as shortest traveller - 3050. I assume this variant will be cheaper than Citiline. And this is the variant which is best suited to be a Overlanding vehicle IMO.

Force should infact give us a Overlanding vehicle out of factory on 3050, and there will be some takers for it.

It actually looks good in a kind of rustic way and it will look good in the target rural markets where utility will rank higher. The ingress and egress can be a challenge for the passengers in the back but for a people mover this can be a hit. Lets wait and watch

Indeed but the bus like height of 3050 makes it less appealing. The MUV like stance of Citiline is also less likely to be stopped by cops for absolutely no reasons in the rural areas.

Also, I agree. Force should make an overlander!

Target market is a small joint family who don't want to spend for a small 12 seater bus for family trips. Also works out as people mover cabs in remote areas like Dharwad.

See the target market at Gokak falls after the peak rains. Also, in Dharmasthala parking lot.

The new front facia has robbed the desi G-Wagon look of this (would be) work horse.

Citiline name is Oxymoron as I think it's takers will be outside Citi, the semi-urbs and remote pockets where it's older siblings have been the mode of transport for decades now.

Here are a couple of comical takes on the other siblings of the Citiline. Though it is in Kannada, most of the narration can be understood.

It somehow resembles the 'Force One' from the front. That was the most premium/luxurious offering from the moniker.

Albeit it is sad that they could not procure a superior or a modern engine. They believe in flogging the dead horse; but I wonder for how long?

The new Gurkha is quite a handsome vehicle, however, the engine remains a deal breaker as customers compare it with the competition.

9 seats is the limit for a white-board vehicle. Unless you do the hera-pheri to get one.

Btw, I did not know Dharwad is remote

Re: Force Citiline | 10-seater MUV with all front facing seats | Launched at Rs 15.93L

I wonder if such a configuration/layout (long wheelbase & overhang, high GVW and average width) provides for safe, predictable handling. If this remains a ponderous beast, then the lower powered engine might just bode well for the Citiline
