IMO - Kia and many manufacturers in the recent past have resorted to overdesigning their cars to make them "stand out". Only a few manufacturers and models continue to have cohesive designs that flow together seemlessly, with most design elements integrating and blending into others. It often appears that numerous eye-catching elements have been plastered on at different points of time, or as afterthoughts, often leading to "busy" looking designs.

Look at the Creta's tail lamp as an example. It looks like 3 different teams were independently tasked with designing different parts of the taillamp without talking to the others and then someone finally just merged all their independant designs. (No offense to those who like the Creta's design though, design is subjective).


The Germans (VAG to be specific) so far still seem to have restraint in their design langauge, albeit one could associate terms like "classic, timeless, old school, safe, dated or even slightly boring" to some of their designs. One of the reasons I brought home the Skoda Slavia 6 months back was its smart, cohesive, restrained-yet-attractive and modern enough design language. But again, this is about design, and design is subjective ....

Current gen Seltos, in my view is still probably the best looking mid-size SUV in India. They had nailed the proportions, details, design and the boxy looks in 2019 and it still looks good now.

I like the continuity in design yet enough changes to make it feel like a proper facelift.

Recently spent some time checking out the facelifted GT Line Variant in Australia and the car looks smashing at night from rear with the LED set up running on the boot. Yes, it's busy and its not understated and not timelessly elegant but it sure attracts attention and looks very modern. Somehow the car also looks more beefed up and butch now.

I think in India, it will plug few features that were added in competitors since its launch like electric parking brake, panaromic sunroof, ADAS, digital MID, etc. and with its new 1.5 T-GDi motor, this thing will SELL.

Hope they strengthen the crash structure though, which was the only negative of an almost perfect car.

The updated Seltos is anticipated to arrive in two trim levels, Tech Line and GT Line, and be available with petrol, turbo-petrol and diesel engine options. Kia is gearing up to introduce the facelifted version of its popular SUV Seltos in the Indian market. This 2023 facelifted alliteration will be introduced in the Indian market on July 4th. Kia Seltos competes with the likes of Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, VW Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, MG Astor. It will also compete with the upcoming Citroen C3 Aircross and Honda Elevate.

Kia Seltos is among the most popular compact SUVs in India and is arguably the best looking option in the segment. Kia introduced the Seltos in the Indian market back in 2019 and now the company is all set to introduce a mid-cycle update of this SUV.

Kia Seltos in its current avatar is a perfect allrounder with plush interiors and great looking exteriors. Only gripe would be the 3 star crash ratings. Hope with this version Kia have made an attempt to increase the safety ratings.

Looks is subjective but the front view is fab. Rear looks kinda inspired by new Venue, sporting similar lines

Mid-spec Kia Seltos facelift interior spied; gets panoramic sunroof

New images of the Kia Seltos facelift have surfaced online as the Korean carmaker prepares to launch the updated SUV in India. The latest spy images showcase the mid-spec variant, which is also likely to get a panoramic sunroof option.



The spy image also reveals a part of the centre console on the updated Seltos. As you can see, the SUV is equipped with dual-zone automatic climate control. This particular vehicle is equipped with an automatic transmission and is expected to come with an electronic parking brake. The Seltos will also get ADAS on select variants.



On the outside, the Seltos facelift will get a redesigned front fascia featuring a new grille and LED headlamps. It has L-shaped wraparound taillights with an LED light bar connecting the two and a new rear bumper.

Powertrain options will remain the same, with the Seltos facelift getting a new 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine, besides the 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engine options.

Is the picture of the centre console also from the mid spec variant? I'm assuming it to be the mid spec because it doesn't have the ventilated seat buttons and instead they're blank. If it's mid spec, I'm surprised and happy that it gets dual zone climate control. Can't wait for the launch.

It's no more likely case, the seltos seems would indeed get the Pano Sunroof. Needs to be seen though, if it's the same "Mid Variant", since both Seltos's seem to be of different colors.

Here are the hi-res interior pictures of the 2024 Kia Seltos. Kia is upping the game clearly. This of course is the LHD variant but the Indian version is likely to be the same (see the similarity of the two in the spy shots).

The safety suite is also being updated (referred to as ADAS in India). For the North American market, Kia is offering the following safety features. I'm sure most of these will make it to the Indian market as well.

• Standard automated emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection
• Standard lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist
• Available adaptive cruise control with a lane-centering feature

The Seltos's infotainment setup has substantially changed for 2024, with a new seamless panel stretching two-thirds of the dashboard serving as both a digital gauge display and an infotainment touchscreen. I'm sure Kia is going to offer a smaller display with an analog gauge cluster as standard for the lower variants. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto seem to be standard for every model.
