Matte paint ceramics are different from the glossy paint ceramics. You can't do glossy paint ceramic coatings on a matte finish paint. Atleast one brand of matte ceramic is available in India. Unfortunately the Dr Beasley's brand , popular in US, is not available here.

I know same cars don't make sense. Wish XUV700 doesn't have such long waiting periods.

Wow, that's a lot of feedback from Matte Black owners.
I have an X Line Seltos waiting to be delivered in a week and it looks drop dead gorgeous both inside and out.

This is a real dilemma!

How equipped are the roadside denting painting shops to handle any mishaps to the X line's matte color ?

Can they procure the right matte color or this needs to be corrected at a dealership?

I heard my Workshop guy mention that Re Painting Matte is as good as one does a Metallic Paint. In fact the process is relatively easier, the cost being the same.

Existing owners may shed some light on it.

Matte is a top coat (transparent) finish and not a colour. Between the glossy and matte finish all other colour process remains same - primer, base coat and colour coat(s). Only difference is in the sealant top coat wherein the glossy topcoat reflects the light but matte top coat diffuses the light and hence it is not as "shiny" as the other.

The road side mechanics will not be able to "touch up" a matte finish as buffing will not help (it will rather make the matte finish shine).

Dealerships and professional colour shops would be able to manage them easily. It is like any other glossy paint job.

On test drive, checked with my SA. They only have 1 diesel for same. No clarity on when turbo petrol be available for test drive.
