Great choice. If your driving requirements are 75% or above in the city, then I would strongly recommend you steer clear of the DCT. DCT takes a beating in city speeds and the clutch setup will wear out fast and replacing it will burn a hole in your pocket. As far as overall longevity is concerned we are still in the early stages of the Hyundai Kia DCT in India. So it's difficult to comment on the same. Some might say Hyundai Kia already has DCT-equipped cars abroad. But the traffic conditions and driving styles are poles apart compared to India.

PS: Have a Virtus GT DSG that I primarily use for highway driving. For the city, I use a beater car - a 2013 i20 diesel.

Thank you for the suggestion. But in my lane there is a parallel parking and cars are parked facing each other. So Creta is the car which goes properly in and out of the parking. There are a couple of Ertigas but they too have a problem getting in and out. So that is the reason of not taking a MUV. I had Tata get a Harrier in my lane but the SA himself was having trouble parking the vehicle.
Also preference is diesel so Maruti is out of question.

5 adults and a baby will be a tight squeeze in any of the Creta sized cars. The centre arm rest at the rear seat creates a hard back support for the third centre passenger and becomes uncomfortable for longer distance driving. Further, your baby will be an independent child in just a few years and should be seated and belted independently.

XL 6 or Ertiga might be a good option that you may like to evaluate.

However, if you want to stick to Creta sized car, you may go ahead with facelifted Seltos which you may get by festival season.

Upto how many years does Kia provide warranty (even if it is paid)? For eg, Honda provides upto 10 years of warranty.

For this new 1.5L Petrol Turbo engine, it might make sense to buy warranty as much as possible for peace of mind.

One of my friend drives earlier generationSeltos Diesel and he does feel the drive on heavier side. I have hence booked the 1.5 Turbo Petrol. This would be mainly for my wife who primarily drives in city but I'm not happy with pickup of normal 1.5 Petrol and for those occasional highway drives or early morning open stretch, I do want to invest in Turbo Petrol and enjoy the power.

It’s max upto 5 years - 3 years standard + 2 years extended(paid).

Agree completely. You cannot do more than city runs in any 5 seater vehicle in any meaningful way. Heck there are only 5 seats belts, not sure what is the way around that? You need a 3 row vehicle whether is Carens or an Innova or Ertiga.

My friend has booked XUV700 for the features and diesel engine it offers. Seltos has interested him since it gets all the features (including panaromic roof !). He is ok for a 5 seater now.

The electronics should also be much stable in Kia compared to XUV. For a 5 seater configuration, the Kia makes more sense to him with lesser money but many features and better (slightly?) reliability. Only reason he is not cancelling his XUV yet is for safety. He is really confused and blames Kia

Let me just jump in and suggest Alcazar too. It's just 200mm longer than Creta and is just Creta with an extra row.

Checked out all the variants and colors of the Seltos today and in my opinion, the Pewter Olive looks great in the showrooms, but not so much in broad daylight, the other colors look good as always, they were the same in the earlier model as well. I personally didn't like the Intense Red too much mainly because of the connecting taillamps and the color both being similar, Blue, Black, and the Dual tone White look great especially on the new model as compared to the older one.

The interiors of the HTX+ variant with beige and black looked the best, but the top-end variants have to do with black and white I guess. Price reveal and test drives are to begin from July 21st to July 25th. So it's hardly a week till I get my hands on one for the test drive and become the first one to receive it from the dealership in my city as well.

For any of you who still like to get the Old Seltos, the dealership in my place has a dozen of them still remaining with mouth-watering discounts, do DM me for any details and I will be glad to help!

Oh, I can't wait, overjoyed and excited as well for the new Seltos!

Yes, I have been reading, researching and looking at Youtube videos a lot. Even I am very excited about the new Seltos and the features it has compared to any other car in the segment. Good I didn't shoot the gun on the Creta SXO. Now just need to wait for the drive reviews to see how the suspension is tuned. Then final test drive. I hope the prices are within range though.
