I know it seems strange but i thought i might as well ask you people.

The Maybach costs Rs. 5.8 crores, on road in Mumbai. Now thats helluva lot of money for one car. Would you buy it at this price? Or would you buy another car for this price? Or a bevy of cars at this price?

If so what would be that one car or combination of cars you would buy?

Now the rules.

Please try and list the price of the cars, landed in your city after octroi, sales tax and duties have been paid please. Prices should be approximate but as correct as possible. Give or take 5 lakhs in a 60-70 lakh rupee landed price is acceptable, or shud i say 5-8% error is acceptable, not more. You can always correct others but by providing a logical explanation. Take your time and you can come back and add or change the figures whenever you feel like. But once you do have a final list, do claim that this is your final list.

Let's really see whats cooking in your mind and what are your choices. Getting your thinking caps on ppl...

Since i wouldnt want to spend 5.8 on the Maybach, i'd rather create a garage out of it. Here's mine for starters

1. Silver E-39 BMW M5 2002 for $55,000 or Rs. 25 lakhs. Landed would be close to 60.

2. Yup Steel grey GTO, 2004 E46 M3 CSL. 60000 pounds or 48 lakhs. Landed close to 1.2 crores.

3. White Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VIII FQ330 - 32000 pounds or 26 lakhs. Landed price of 60 lakhs.

4. Flaming Red 1992 Lancia HF Delta Integrale - Guesstimate of 25000 pounds (oops aussie dollars.. my bad) or 6.25 lakhs. Landed price of approximately 16 lakhs now.

5. *Porsche Carrera 2.7 RS- $50,000 Landed cost= Rs. 5005000 ( i think ported will agree with me on it )

6. With Addy's input, 2004 Silver Porsche 911 Turbo S: Brand New at EUR 122,500 (Rs. 64,92,500) - Landed price Rs. 1.7 Crores.

7. 2004 Mercedes Benz S55 AMG - $110000. Landed price, Rs.1.1 crore approximately.

8. A W124 E250D. Price approximately Rs. 7 lakhs.

Total is Rs. 5.84 crores. Prices have been arrived by taking a bit on the higher side so i guess all of em should come within 5.8 crores. If incorrect will earn later to on to buy the E250D.

No ways I am going to spend my 5.8 crores on the Maybach. An Enzo I am tempted toward buttttttttttt.....

Always a good thing to get the grey cells working on such dream garages. How about adding the colours for added effect?

Heres my FINAL list:

1. Black Mercedes 560SEL - Pristine condition example in the UK - 15000 Pounds - Landed at 30 Lacs

2. 2004 BMW M3 CSL (There can be only one colour!!)- As per your calculations - 1.2 Crores

3. Steel grayish 2004 Shelby Mustang GT500 Eleanor - $90,000 - Landed at 1.05 Crores

4. Military green/Black wheels 2004 AM General Hummer H1 *- $110,000 - Landed at 1.25 Crores

5. Red+White combo Mitsubishi Lancer EVO VI Tommi Makkinen edition - 22,00,000 Yen - Landed at 25 Lacs

Its a complete garage - a luxo-barge, an off-roader, a road-racer, pure american muscle and a german engineering marvel from Munich.

So I would still have 1.75 Crores left over. This, I would put away toward the Ferrari Enzo fund

5.8 crores hmmm ok here goes

Pre owned Ferrari F355 Red stick shift with tubis - 75 lakhs is it
Jaguar XJR Saloon black - 1.3 crores
Porsche Cayenne Turbo - 1.1 crores
Lamborghini Diablo VT - not sure bout the price for a pre owned one
Honda S 2000 - I just love it more after seeing the ad on TV
A Honda Blackbird or Hayabusa - Not for me , my brother

Thats bout it for me 2 exotics ,one Japanese sports car, a luxury saloon, a fast SUV.. and sportscar in one, a super bike.

If theres any money left.. a trip to the Monte carlo Grand Prix or I'd participate in a track day which would let me drive the Mclaren F1 and Enzo

Cheers
