Here is a look at all the important car launches expected to take place in April 2023.

Mahindra Thar 4x4 AX AC (entry-level)



Mahindra is planning to introduce a new entry-level variant of the Thar 4x4. The new variant will offer four-wheel drive capabilities at a much lower price point.

Reports suggest that the new stripped-down variant could be called AX AC. It will miss out on some of the features offered in the AX (O). It is likely to be a 4-seater with forward-facing seats in the back. The new entry-level Thar 4x4 will be offered with a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder mStallion petrol producing 150 BHP and 320 Nm and a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel that makes 130 BHP and 320 Nm. Both engines are expected to be paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox.

Maruti Suzuki Fronx



Maruti Suzuki has started dispatching the Fronx crossover to dealerships across India. While pre-bookings are already open, prices are expected to be announced soon.

The Fronx will be offered with two engine options. These include a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 99 BHP and 147 Nm and a 1.2-litre petrol engine that makes 89 BHP and 113 Nm. Customers will get a choice of a 5-speed manual, a 6-speed automatic and an AMT.

MG Comet EV



The MG Comet EV is based on the Wuling Air EV. It’s a 2-door small car featuring a tall boy body style. The Wuling Air sold globally is offered with two battery options: 17.3 kWh with 200 km of range and a 26.7 kWh battery offering 300 km of range. Technical details of the Indian version are still unknown.

Citroen mid-size SUV (unveil)



Citroen is all set to unveil its new mid-size SUV for the Indian market on April 27. The new model is expected to compete with the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and Maruti Grand Vitara.

The new Citroen SUV (codenamed: CC24) will be based on the CMP modular platform. It is expected to have a wheelbase of 2.62 metres and an overall length of 4.40 metres.
