Thanks for the clarification on the current brakes ability.

Don't you feel the 1.5's deserve a lower GC and a stiffer suspension setup to get that sporty better handling / less bouncy feel that the bigger engine's buyers look forward to?

Maybe we will get it in the vRS/Monte carlo editions perhaps?

Having test driven the car on an S bend enthusiastically and while currently being an owner of a Vento, I can say that the balance between ride quality, stability, body control and ground clearance is perfect. I'd suggest you to go drive it and see it for yourself, you will not be disappointed unless you're looking to track the car.

A certain 'crazy updates' reviewer felt the setup is tuned more towards comfort and body roll is there. But nothing like a self-confirmation, as you said. Thanks!

Looks like the parent company wants to have as many advantages as possible, Virtus doesn't have any of the 1.5L trims with a MT. Hopefully this changes soon.

The whole segment leans (pun intended ) that way. Primary target demographics are small families and entry-level chauffeur-driven customers, so these cars are supposed to be comfortable first with potential for some fun, not the other way round.

Most of them are perfectly capable of some enthusiastic driving on public roads, where it's rarely possible to push a car to a point the limitations become a deal-breaker.

The arrival of the Verna Turbo changed everything overnight. Thank God for competition!!

VW will also be forced to offer the Viirtus 1.5L in lower trims with MT thanks to this development. Someone looking for a driver-oriented performant sedan at a sub 15 lakh ex-showroom price point is in luck now!

I would say Skoda/VAG should seriously consider offering the 1.5 L TSI engine even in the base trims to get a step ahead of Hyundai. Imagine a 12 lakh Comfortable 1.5 TSI VW Virtus!

VW recently consolidated its portfolio by removing Taigun 1.5 manual. Now with competition from Verna turbo, hope VW launches 1.5 manual in both base and mid model. Skoda as the driver in India needs to act fast to democratize their offerings and tilt the scales in their favour as Hyundai is in vantage position now to increase their market share with Verna. Skoda/VAG should undercut Verna.

This is a very welcoming move by Skoda/Vw group. So, it took 2 years and one decent competition(Verna turbo) to force them to towards this sweet decision. As a next step, if Skoda/Vw group localize this engine development in India and cut down price by a 50k - 70k, that would be spice up things even further.

Your move Hyundai.
