Rumour: Nissan Kicks bookings halted; discontinued?

Nissan dealerships have reportedly stopped taking bookings for the Kicks.

Rumour: Nissan Kicks bookings halted; discontinued?-kicks.jpg

The Nissan Kicks was launched in January 2019. It received a BS6 upgrade a year later. At the time, Nissan also introduced a new 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine. The crossover was available in four trims: XL, XV, XV Premium and XV Premium (O), and was offered with either manual or CVT transmission options.

Unlike the Magnite, Kicks sales have been fairly muted. In November 2022, Nissan sold just 3 units of the Kicks. However, not a single unit was dispatched in the following 3 months.

While the Kicks is still listed on the website, we haven’t heard anything about the crossover getting upgraded to comply with the new RDE norms.

Even when it was on sale, Nissan wasn’t interested in selling it. More often than not, the sales’ person would push the buyer to consider Magnite instead. Really sad to see the last kid of Duster family being discontinued, but Nissan have only themselves to blame.

I have Nissan Kicks BS4 Diesel and have been absolutely satisfied with the vehicle after 38k kms. Having done multiple long road trips on it, I can vouch for its comfort and engine power. Recently went from Mumbai to Manali on it .
Sad to see that such a good vehicle failed to make a mark in the Indian market.

I've always wanted to buy it, but my finances haven't been in the best shape. I'm hopeful that the next time it will return with all the fresh upgrades and I'll be able to afford it.
