Tata teases Red Dark Editions of Nexon, Harrier & Safari
Tata Motors has released a teaser of its upcoming Red Dark Edition models, indicating that the special editions are likely to be launched in the near future.

Interestingly, the teaser video shows a silhouette of three SUVs. Besides the Harrier and Safari, the Nexon will also get the Red Dark edition treatment.
We got our first chance to check out the Harrier and Safari Red Dark Editions at the Auto Expo 2023. Both SUVs get an all-black exterior finish with red highlights, while the interior is wrapped in red upholstery.
A similar theme would be replicated on the Nexon. The crossover will get an all-black exterior with red accents and 16-inch alloy wheels on the outside, along with an interior wrapped in red upholstery.
The Harrier and Safari will be based on their 2023 editions, which come equipped with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 360-degree camera and several safety features as part of the ADAS suite.

Tata Harrier Red Dark edition variant details out
Tata Motors is gearing up to launch the Harrier Red Dark edition soon. The carmaker released a teaser video of the special edition last week, and now a new report sheds light on its variant details.
According to the report, the Harrier Red Dark edition will be offered in two trims: XZ+ and XZA+ (O), with the latter getting the ADAS suite. It includes safety features like high beam assist, lane change alert, lane departure warning, door open alert, traffic sign recognition, blind spot detection, rear cross-traffic alert, rear collision warning, forward collision warning and autonomous emergency braking.
The Red Dark edition will be offered with an Oberon Black exterior, a piano black grille with Zircon Red accents, Carnelian Red interior, quilted seats with ‘Dark’ logo on the headrest, 18-inch diamond-cut alloys with a Charcoal Black finish and red brake calipers.
The Harrier Red Dark edition will be available with an RDE-compliant 2.0-litre diesel engine that makes 168 BHP and 350 Nm, paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic.

Is it just the image or the interior does actually have that kind of finish on the horn pad, dashboard, and door pads?
If it would be the same on the production models, then that looks horrendous imo.:Frustrati

Are those glass tints actual or "artistic interpretation"?
If actual, going by the pic, I suspect those might be illegal.
If it is the latter, I suspect the actual car will look nowhere like this promo.
I understand the need to create hype, but I wish manufacturers posted real pics.
I really hope that Tata is not repeating the history i.e. resting on its laurels. They have been successful lately because they had revamped their entire offering, but it is appearing that they will continue to sell same vehicles years after they were launched.
They should look to refresh (not just the paint offerings) these 3 cars. Technically, Nexon should have been phased out by now as it is based on old architecture even though Tata went on a marketing drive to say that they will only launch cars which are either based on Omega and Alpha. The competition is the space is brutal and M&M has gained a considerable market share even though they launched XUV much later.

What is that texture on the black panels and steering wheel ? Looks like the new type of non stick utensils lol:

TATA editions are designed well, they look great but they are avoiding the real issue with their lineup.
You are loosing market share to Mahindra in the larger dimension segment, new touchup here and there are not going to work. I am afraid they did the same thing with Indica, it was a good product with differentiation when it was launched, competition came, it improved, took marketshare and TATA was still offering the same product till BOLT with small version changes and new special editions.
Competition is creating value at a fast pace (TATA is following and not the category creator / innovator) in all the critical aspect structural safety, ADAS/ tech, interiors, GDI engines, 4x4s compared to M&M
Tata requires a proper facelift on Harrier / Safari, Engine - 175+ PS / 400+ NM, steering is generations behind XUV, and AWD / 4x4 is missing. Current TATA numbers are not the true reflection of the product line up but the result of their fantastic production capacity. They will loose market share if M&M / Hyundai can deliver in their time lines (2-4 weeks)
I am confused, when Tata is offering all the new features in the dark edition itself, what else will they offer in the facelift which is due. Shouldn't have these features launched with the facelift itself?

Could be EPS, ADAS 2.0, 1.5 Turbo Petrol and much awaited 5 star rating :D
The editions look good & do sell well often in case of Tata Motors. But I for one, am rather fed up with these. Enough of playing with colour palette to ask for premium pricing. Simply add colours in the line up, add features in the X trims of the mainstream variants & price sensibly. These editions all look like stop-gap arrangements often. And - it will be a headache in the long run for these "edition" customers to get some specific cosmetic parts after the editions are discontinued as well.
Work smarter - learn a bit from MSIL, keep things simple, optimize your supply chain with consistent long term large part orders & contain vehicle prices to make them more competitive. Especially in a situation where the cars like XUV7OO are running circles around your cars of different colours, while packing technology not even in the pipeline for TaMo yet.

Good one! But I think (and hope!) that its just the used image processor / compressor tool not being able to handle high density pixels and resulting in the unintentional texture in final image.

Tinted windows offered by an OEM from the factory are not illegal. It is only fitments carried out at the dealership/stores/etc. that are illegal irrespective of the percentage of visibility. I sincerely hope OEMs take the benefit of this rule and introduce tinted windows within permissible visibility limits on their higher trims.

I too hope that actual dashboard doesn't look like the utensil. May be you are right, a high density pixel defect or a carbon fibre-ish finish etc.
But we can't be so sure since we saw a bathroom tile kind of design in #GOLD edition. ;)
