Re: 2023 Tata Harrier & Safari bookings open; now with ADAS

I wonder what happened to the rumour (Rumour: Tata Harrier & Safari to be GNCAP-tested later in 2022) that these would have GNCAP ratings when the new protocols kicked in. We've already seen how an SUV that is 82% likely to have scored four stars earlier made up for its frontal impact shortcomings with an excellent side impact, ESC and optional side airbags, and achieved five stars with the new wider-ranging GNCAP criteria. After nearly a 2-year period Tata's socials have started responding to requests for a rating again, but I don't know if it means anything.

Why would they have Air Con controls on screen when they have physical buttons to control it? Esp if they have a dial for speed, it's going to be a nightmare to keep both in sync esp if the buttons are not soft touch (which I think they aren't)

They have controls on the screen as there is no display near the physical controls to show the selected settings, thus they needed to add a section for the air-con in the infotainment. A similar story is seen in the Nexon as well.

Re: 2023 Tata Harrier & Safari bookings open; now with ADAS

The prices for the facelifted models of Harrier and Safari are out.

The Harrier gets a price increase ranging from Rs.5000 to Rs.37000 while the Safari from Rs. 14000 to 66000 across models. Also, some of the models have been axed. The ADAS version XZA+(O) commands a premium of Rs.1,00,000 over the XZA+ without the ADAS. The 10.25 inch infotainment system and other connected car features are available from XMS versions. Also, a seven-inch digital driver’s display, red ambient lighting, a six-way powered driver seat with memory and welcome function, and a 360-degree camera are added as well. Safari, in addition, gets 4-way powered co-driver’s seat with electric boss mode and sunroof-integrated ambient lighting.

Now it has to be evaluated how they stack against the competition. And I hope the quality issues have been sorted out. Then they stay relevant in the competition which is getting fierce in this space with MG throwing all in.

I like the new Safari but I wish it had a lighter steering for driving in the city and a petrol option too. I wish it gets a crash test rating soon. If all this happens, it might sell in better numbers than the xuv700.

What a variant nightmare this is !!!

==================

Can anyone tell me what exactly is the differentiating factor between Safari and Harrier except for seats configuration? Both comes with 4 disc brakes and all features I guess now (though it was only on Safari initially)
