This is how brands should plan their products, Creta is still not obsolete or lacking any features.
I hear you, But I had driven harrier on launch and felt it was a beta testing product. No AT, so many ergo issues, no premium stuff like sun roof or ADAS etc. TATA on the other hand kept working on the customer feedback and kept adding these features. Fast forward, I took back to back test drive of Safari and XUV700. while Safari feels solid, it still has those ergo issues, heavy steering, plastic quality feels scratchy(though its solid) and in comparison, XUV felt like car done right the first time(relative ) It was effortless and felt like driving a compact car while safari had that extra heft separating you from the outside world. While XUV had long waiting periods, TATA dealership was talking about 2-3 weeks wait based on choice of color.

So I believe TATA is again trying to up the game and probably catch up with the competition and hopefully this is win-win for customers like us

I also heard that they will bring a 1.5l turbo petrol motor with 170bhp and 280nm torque. Not sure though.

I am really curious to see if they can increase the output of the diesel engine. The 350nm torque on the diesel seems inadequate when compared to the 450nm put out by the XUV 700 diesel automatic.

Another hope is that they provide multilink suspension at the rear like the xuv700 with frequency selective damping. Just providing new lights will not be sufficient to reduce the waiting period on the xuv700 in my opinion.

My thoughts exactly. Love the new look of the Safari, but the front does look very similar to the pre-facelift MG Hector.

And again, not complaining. Like Clarkson once said, "Its like complaining that a bloke looks too like Brad Pitt"

The point is that Tata should have done a facelift and got everything together at once rather than doing it step by step. If you see Korean twins, they were launched with everything in 2019-20 and now they are just trying to better it. The same goes with XUV700, it was launched with everything possible. Tata has been updating every year one by one, which in turn makes consumer feel their product gets old in a years time. People who bought Tata twins last year or earlier this year had to see their car get old so soon, as Tata revamped their entire interiors, infotainment, etc. Technically that was the facelift Tata should've launched or if they were planning to give it a Nexon like interiors they shouldn't have updated it earlier this year. People who bought the new Tata twins earlier this year will see their cars getting old in 6 months.

I, for one, having purchased the Safari BS 6.2 only few months ago would probably emote this way only if the new one comes with a sorted electric power steering. No other cosmetic changes are going to hurt me.

I am in the same boat as you. EPS would be one thing to feel missing out on, looks wise whatever seen so far I am more happy with current version.

Wondering if all those ambient elements are really going to be purple or customizable

Re: 2023 Tata Harrier & Safari bookings open; now with ADAS

I think the time has come for Tata to redesign their logo, at least for passenger cars. The current logo looks out of place on the cars updated to the current design language. It looks good on the old Nexon, Harrier/Safari twins, not so good here - especially on the new steering.

I think Tata is working on Agile methodology here. As per customer feedbacks and needs, they are modifying product for good. This is very sensible thing to do rather than just sitting on a product for years until it becomes sales dud. Tata is trying many things and giving customers what they want. As a customer, we should be happy that company is listening to it's customers and acting on it quickly. For example - Black edition they launched first as per customer willingness and now other companies are also doing same. They introduced sunroof in lower models which people wanted.

Instead of being lazy, better be innovative & creative. As far as customers are concerned, any car you buy any given day, it will be old in sometime. There will always be new technology, new features, etc. keep coming in market, so you can't complain.

Re: 2023 Tata Harrier & Safari bookings open; now with ADAS

Initial thoughts based on teasers.

Body coloured mesh grill is giving an appearance of an EV rather than an ICE car with radiator grille. I personally don't like the grill treatment on EVs - looks like as if designer ran out of ideas what he/she could do with the cosmetic grille. And yes, it does remind of Hector.

Overall vehicle is looking more futuristic and going with the trend.

Nice addition of that color option, suits the Safari.

Connect DRL is not my cup of tea.

Black treatment around is good - is that a standard now on all variants?

SAFARI branding font - the existing one looks better IMHO

Alloys appear a bit too loud for my taste.

In any case this is still going to be a looker and looks were never problem on Safari. It's problems lied elsewhere - hope they sorted those.

1. Steering tuning
2. Left drift
3. Ergonomics
4. Body Rusting

That's your call to take. Whether you want to wait or buy fresh product. Also Tata is adding features and making it better, not that they are giving half baked products.

Agree with your pointers here, exactly my thoughts. I am waiting to see what updates they have done inside and if they have sorted some minor ergonomic issues.

And the alloys remind me of Hyundai Alcazar alloys. What happened to those 19inchers similar to the one's on Hexa? And the front reminds me of MG Hector.

I am hoping the car looks much better in real time.
