Sometime back a non teambhpian friend asked me to lend me a car or a two wheeler for a few days. I politely refused saying that one is my heart, the other my liver, the next my lungs, the yet another one my eyes and ears and hence these are all important organs for my well being.

One Hero Honda Splendor purchased in 2002. 21 years old now. It is used by someone else in the family, but ownership is still with me.

Re: How many differently-abled, 15+ year cars and bikes do you own?

The thread topic warrants modification.
I was under impression that the thread would be about vehicles for "differently-abled" people which are old and hence face challenges in places (like Delhi) where re-registration is not possible.

I have the following:
- 1st Gen Active from the 1st lot. Still running and papers valid.
- LML Vespa NV. Papers expired.
- Fiero. Papers valid and bike is running. However not stock. Engine is converted to 180, gearbox to 5 speed, front disk conversion, electric start conversion, instrument cluster of the Fire F2, fairing replaced with a round light and pulsar indicators.

Re: How many differently-abled, 15+ year cars and bikes do you own?

Voted two.

I own two such 15+ year old vehicles. First is a M800 DX 5-Speed which we bought brand new in 2000. Even after 23 years and 3 lakh+ kms, the 800 happens to be my dad's favourite car from amongst the three cars that we own. Another one is a Hero Honda Splendor which came as a replacement for my dad's 1992 CD100 SS in 2002. Fact to be told, it was not being used much after we bought a Yamaha Ray Z in 2015 and was sitting unused in a corner since the last couple of years. I recently gifted the bike a fresh coat of paint and new rubbers to bring back its original glory. Also, got the fitness certificate renewed last month for another five years.

Own a 1989 premier 118. Pleasure to drive even today. Though sees only occasional action because of traffic conditions and never ending metro works.

One Suzuzki Shogun bought in March 1994. Still riding very well though I don't take it out on public roads as it is no longer street legal.
One Toyota Innova petrol bought in 2005. This has done 200000 kms and still handles and drives very well.

One - 2005 Royal Enfield Standard 500
Since I live in New Delhi, it is illegal to ride on public roads and to keep as DL registration, so got a MH (Maharashtra) number for it.

Utility is zero, it's noisy, not very fast and drinks more petrol than my Hybrid Car but all of that is eclipsed by the riding pleasure. It's only run 10,000 kms in 18 years, but a wide smile is guaranteed for every ride.

I own a 28 year old mahindra cl 500 di. Runs like a charm and the feeling of this jeep is not present in any of the vehicles anymore.

My Fireblade is 20 years old now, though it has seen a couple of owners in it’s lifetime, currently I have it and trying to maintain it to best of my abilities.

Re: How many differently-abled, 15+ year cars and bikes do you own?

My stable consists of my 2003 Esteem VXi that is going to complete 20 years this October with just 65K kms on the odo and my 2005 Unicorn that will turn 18 in a few weeks with 32k kms on the odo. Both of them are destined to be with me forever.

P.S: It will take another 2 years for my Civic to be part of this thread :-)

Re: How many differently-abled, 15+ year cars and bikes do you own?

Zero as of now
But had this post been made an year ago, I'd have happily voted for 2.

I owned a first gen Pulsar 150(with the round headlights!) And a Tata Indica v2 from 2005.

Unfortunately, my Pulsar died in an unfortunate fire about 8 months ago, and I had to sell the Indica because of lack of time to drive and maintain it!

Re: How many differently-abled, 15+ year cars and bikes do you own?

We have a 2003 Esteem Vxi that is almost 20 years old. It keeps throwing minor issues here and there but runs fine mechanically and barely asks for any maintenance. Body rusting is an issue though. It does the daily duties very well and even some inter-city trips here and there.

I have a 2005 Hyundai accent Gle and a 2001 Honda Activa. The Activa is actually my wife's, transferred to my name after she passed on. Both vehicles are in immaculate condition and are very much street legal. Voted for 2.
