The ideal warm hatch, in my dream, should have the VW 1.0 TSI engine, i20 styling and exhaust and Tata chassis.

I wish they plonk the same powertrain in Punch as well. That's the only missing link in otherwise a wonderful package.

Don’t think they will mate the current petrol engine to DCA. The 1.2 and 1.5 TGDi will be mated to DCA. I don’t understand why TATA chose not to go with the newer engine for the Racer edition. 125 hp and 220 nm would have made a hot hatch!

Fingers Crossed !! Hope Altroz doesn't have to go through same fate as its cousins, the Tiago JTP and Tigor JTP.

The Tiago and Tigor JTP came powered by 114hp, 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engines. The slow-selling models were not upgraded to the BS6 emission standard that effectively marked the end of the road for the JTP twins.

One word to describe it would be - "UGLY". Seriously underwhelming paint scheme. TATA would surely price it aggressively to slightly undercut i20 N-line. Could have been a great competitor but for the looks. The N-line looks real hot in comparison. Still hoping it looks better in flesh.

Display model in auto expo might be only the concept. Painting scheme might have standard monotone or dual tone option only.

I would've accepted that paint job for 250 BHP. But for 120 BHP, it's an overkill.

Any idea whether it's a 3 cylinder or 4 cylinder?

It's the same 1.2L Revotron that does duty on present Altroz, only in Nexon tune.

As a (greedy and) optimistic query, can Tata offer a retrospective ECU update to present iturbo users, like what they did to NA petrol users and EV users? iTurbo has better drivability than its NA variant, but could do well with some more low-end torque for even better city runs. I understand the gearbox is the limiting constraint (5-speed Vs 6-speed with Nexon/Altroz racer), but still...
