It looks severely under-tyred. Even the old indica vista had the same issue, the wheels looked dwarfed under the arches.

I really hoped that tata would go all in with this update. A new Body kit (Atleast changes softbody parts), a sportier exhaust and "sportier" graphics and no I don't mean those dumb racing stripes. This product lacks differentiation with the standard variants and more importantly, it lacks that wow-factor

The 120N line is still the benchmark "sporty-er" hatch here.

The Infotainment system 'tablet' sticks out too high from the dashboard (almost to the top of the steering wheel).

Steering wheel being high is not going to affect the visibility, as we look right ahead.
But for shorter drivers, a taller infotainment system screen will restrict their left frontal visibility.

The colour scheme and graphics look underwhelming in these pictures. But I'll reserve my judgement till I see one in real life.

The Bonnet looks atroicious! Looks like someone got a new bonnet replacement and is yet to paint it out!

Altroz is a very beautiful car in its stock style, maybe more stylish alloys and some sporty elements would be enough, would be a sleeper like how the Polo GT was.

Hope the Diesel also gets similar features!

Now that it is going to be launched, it will be interesting to see the market reaction for the sales numbers and a lot will depend on the pricing of the variants.

Don't think that this model will set the market on fire immediately with the launch simply because IMHO they have gone overboard with the design elements especially with the dual tone choices and this will definitely take some time to sink in for the buyers.

They should have kept the design simple and clean with some subtle changes to distinguish from the current regular variants.

Even Tiago JTP looks more sporty than this.

They could have added new exhaust design and a sporty looking gear knob. (Just look at Creta N-line's gear knob).

Looks underwhelming for a "RACER" edition.

Seems like a rushed move by TATA.

I think they were not very keen on launching it after the failure of JTP twins but as they had showcased it and due to lack of other hot hatch options they thought of trying their luck and going against Hyundai.

But it surely seems like half-baked product and non availability of DCA just shows the lack of interest of TATA towards it.

While it does look overdone, you will end up seeing a lot of “mainstream” Altroz variants being modified by their owners to mimic the Racer.

This happened to the Punto and Punto Evo when the Abarth was launched and this will definitely happen again with Altroz.

The car does seem to be a good package, all that remains to be seen is the price point it is launched at and also if they have done some Altroz specific changes to mechanicals apart from the engine or if it is just a Nexon engine and gearbox shoehorned into the engine bay.

From Indica days to 2024 Punch, we have covered all cars to ridicule this.

Altroz is not a best seller and neither this. They are just giving another option to consider. Didn't like it ? No worries, we have a wide range of options.

No turbo? They gave you one. No automatic? They gave you DCA. No CNG? Dual tank CNG is here.

No powerful engine and when they are offering, now I'm worried about logos on steering or the paint stripes on bonnet. God bless us

I believe that Tata is doing only the sticker job for the Racer version because a Facelift or New model is on its way soon and they don't want to invest in redesigning any panels just for the Racer version.

Why do Indian manufacturers have to make their warm hatches look somewhat overstated? Is that a mandatory thing to double-tone and stripe them?

Having 120bhp is great but it is better to have it in a normal looking or understated car, a micro-sleeper, if you will.

The new screen, ventilated seats and 6 airbags are good features, and the 120HP engine is great for a smaller car, but they should have given at least different alloys (maybe just use the same ones from the previous JTP models), and different exhaust. I also did not see anything mentioned about different suspension yet.

Now Altroz actually has a many different variants on offer, diesel, CNG, petrol, DCA, turbo etc, which is good, but you cannot get automatic with turbo or diesel, and not even with the CNG which was added in tiago/tigor CNG (AMTs).

I still like the car, it looks great and has great build quality, just that a racer version should not have been a half hearted attempt.

First thing to do, if I ever decide to buy this car is "Buy the body-colored bonnet from ASC and change it before taking delivery". Simply, they could have added that racer badge somewhere on the car.
