The Sierra is a brand name with such a cachet. I really hope they bring it back and launch it.

And if they do, shut up and take my money.

An Altroz with the turbo in Nexon's tune along with a 6 speed has been the demand of many enthusiasts in this forum. The iTurbo was lamented as a compromise warm hatch when a true hot hatch is a possibility. Looks like that will materialize soon enough.

I will definitely be among the first in line to get this. Looks absolutely perfect on paper.

Re: Tata Motors @ Auto Expo 2023

Tata delivered with the facelift, hopefully the prices are still VFM

Hyundai not showing off the new verna with 160+ bhp, engine dampened my spirits.
If they don't show it off before Feb - I'm going ahead with the altroz.

Sunroof, ventilated seats, 120hp, and fixing the god forsaken instrument cluster will have to suffice until the economy stabilizes- and we have clarity on the future of EV's in our country.

Re: Tata Motors @ Auto Expo 2023

Wow! The Sierra EV completely stole the limelight. When launched, it may shadow the Harrier EV.
Any news on when will these EVs be launched?

Tata should have brought this in the first place. The idea to differentiate it from Nexon was quite wrong from the start. Be it for petrol or the diesel. I am a directly affected individual in that sense. I sincerely hope it succeeds in sales.

These are wonderful figures. I am excited to see which cars would get these engines. And, engines aren't enough, there must be good auto boxes.

Are they planning to get a performance variant in Nexon, like the xuv300 sportz? Or, would the 1.2 TGDI be the standard engine of the Nexon. Only time will tell.

Re: Tata Motors @ Auto Expo 2023

New responsive infotainment and new digital cluster looks very promising! Changing from analogue speedo to analogue tachometer is also a good choice. Now they both look more premium rather than an afterthought.

360 degree cameras and the rest are welcome additions but I'm hesitant about the ADAS features. Both the safari and harrier are prone to issues and errors so I'm unsure if it's a good idea to let the car's computer take control over steering and brakes in any way.

Re: Tata Motors @ Auto Expo 2023

Wow! Eagerly waited for an update on altroz since quite some time. Worth the wait finally Will be the first one to grab this as soon as launched officially with prices. By the way, I'm really stunned with these updates for altroz, as we all expected this for harrier and safari duo. Never saw a test mule around testing these infotainment and other equipments for altroz. Kudos TATA

These engines are a surprise for me. 1.5 TGDI will fit perfectly in Curvv ICE version. I hope 1.2 TGDI replace Nexon's present engine. Is 1.2 TGDI completely new or an upgrade of current 1.2 Turbo petrol? Still waiting for any Nexon update?

Considering the ADAS features mentioned, all I see is alert and warning systems but not any driving assist systems (except headlight). Does this mean no Lane Keep assist or Adaptive Cruise control or auto-pilot assists. Because I am not sure how useful rear collision warning is, considering we follow literally few cm's gap in bumper to bumper traffic. If there is no steering assist then I would assume same old heavy steering and no change has been made to steering effort (hope I am wrong).

Good to see new infotainment and digital cluster along with 360 camera (hopefully better resolution)

Re: Tata Motors @ Auto Expo 2023

I love the way the Avinya looks. Might wait for the launch of this car before taking the plunge to EVs. Only thing that bothered me was there is no mention of what will be the KMs range for these EVs. Also Pricing will play a crucial role with all the FAME subsidies going away, these EVs might be too costly for us common people.

Re: Tata Motors @ Auto Expo 2023

I am really optimistic about TATA. Nexon is leading the segment and if they can replicate same model, Curv can do the same in Creta segment as well. Since auto makers like Tata/Mahindra do not have a mature hybrid technology, they might be more than happy to move directly to EV while the Japanese are still trying to bridge the gap with their hybrids.
