For me android auto is stable and connects consistently but on rare occasions I just need to restart infotainment in case it doesnt connect. I also dont see the recovery mode issue on switching using source button anymore.

Mgpay has an issue where it deducts money even though the transaction fails.

Have you reported your issue to the SA?

Re: 2023 MG Hector Facelift : A Close Look

Can any Hector owner measure these?

Rear seat backrest width (door to door)
Rest seat bench width (door to door)
Rear seat length (back rest to seat edge)

Front seat length.

Edit: Also, does anyone have Shine petrol manual variant?

Thanks

Got a notification via the iSmart App. Honestly glad to know that the CarPlay issue is being worked on, A+ on the communication.

Re: 2023 MG Hector Facelift : A Close Look

Did anyone take extended warranty for the new Hector? Is it worth the price?
My SA says that battery and infotainment only has a 1 year warranty and will not be covered even with extended warranty. Its a shame that no documents were shared regarding warranty.

.
I opted for extended warranty while purchasing my Hector last month. I believe that warranty is more important for the mechanical issues that one might face. I think three years for battery is good enough. Not sure about infotainment though.

MG seems to be very bad in communication. I am still not sure which parts are covered and which are not. It's just vague and non-trustable.

For eg: I was not aware that the Sharp Pro variant does NOT have telescoping steering wheel adjust.
SAs weren't aware of this as well as there is no mention of it in any of their online documentation. I got totally blind sided into buying Sharp Pro when I would have totally spent another lakh for the telescopic steering wheel(I'm 6 ft tall). Before buying, I asked 3 dealers in Mumbai and Pune and all of them were sure that ADAS is the only missing feature in Sharp Pro.

Yeah. I totally agree about the communication. Even the Owner's Manual is not updated correctly with the facelift.

Even I was also told that ADAS was the only difference, when I enquired in Mumbai & when I purchased the car from my hometown in UP. Though I opted for ADAS variant as I was much impressed by the Adaptive Cruise Control.

Re: 2023 MG Hector Facelift : A Close Look

Hello BHPians

Received the delivery of my Savvy Pro CVT Hector last Sunday 10-Sep-2023. My previous car was a Fiat Linea Tjet, a turbo charged beast that was really hard to let go of.

One week with the Hector has been great. Exploring the vehicle and what it is capable of. Took it out in Bangalore city traffic as well as long highway runs. The road presence of the Hector is quite something.

A lot has been mentioned about the fuel economy, which I did not expect to be that great considering the size and weight of the SUV. While city driving so far has given a mileage of anywhere between 8-10 kmpl, I have managed to get around 13-14 kmpl on highway drives. Not sure if it is the experience of driving a Tjet for around 9 years that is helping me, but one thing I had learnt early on while driving the Linea Tjet was that flooring the accelerator was not going to help at all. Pulsing the accelerator and coasting while the vehicle is in the turbo RPM range does help with the economy. Waiting for the first service to really push the Hector and test its limits....Will share more in the future...

I see that the mileage figures for both of you are obtained from the MG app, which I've read is very off from the real-world mileage. What is your opinion on it?

I have driven mine 5166 till date, with 14 refueling (full tank). The average that I got till date is 8.174 kmpl and last T2T was 6.9kmpl. Best till date has been 11.5kmpl (ofcourse this was a blend of city and majority Highway ride).

I mostly do 10kms ride morning and evening in city. Hence, feel 7kmpl is the wrost you can get. I drive normally without being conscious about keeping light foot or otherwise. Push it at times for the fun of it and drive sedately (like my RE classic Chrome) sometimes. So, fair mix of styles.

Compared to what is shown on MG App, I have always got 10% lesser mileage when I have done tank full method.

In city drive I get ~9kmpl and on highways I get ~13kmpl real-world mileage.

Hector and Hector Plus prices drop by quite a few thousands. Here are all the details.

How do you manage long drives with the gas pedal being so upright in angle?

This is a Silver. As for the milage figures. I just did a full tank refill and got 10 kmpl mileage with a mix of City and Highway driving. The app numbers are not really that far off from the real world.
