It gives a pleasant feeling when we receive wishes from our most loved cars. Earlier, this feature is limited to only high-end cars. In recent years, many auto-makers are implementing this feature in top versions of their cars. I too captured the “Birthday Wishes” on my Nexon. It is displayed for few seconds on MID whenever the power is on for the day.

I've figured out how to get full Youtube access working on the MG Hector 2023 via Android Auto.

I'm able to login and watch Youtube videos as we normall would. This works while driving as well. Works great when on long drives to keep the kids & co passengers entertained.

If anyone is interested in knowing how to get it working, do reply and I'll post a full guide / thread on this. This requires NO Root or any sort of modifications or a PC.

Today after filling diesel, I am getting "please check engine" light in orange color. The mg helpline folks said its not an issue and it may disappear in a day but the service center guy is telling me to get the vehicle to the service center to check. The pickup has gone down post this message. Has anyone else faced this issue? Attaching screenshot.

Very interesting that Video is working, do post details, would be interesting to know how is it made possible on Android Auto, and I am guessing probably if it is an Android auto issue it might work on other cars also. That said I am hoping it is only when car is parked, because would be extremly distratcing if it is possible while car is moving.

If this happened right after fill-up, then it could be the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) triggering the check engine filter. I've seen this happen in other cars like Mercedes as well. I assume you were pretty low on diesel before filling up as well. Anyways, this should disappear in a day or next restart. You should only get it checked if it persists.

Yes, it works on all Android Auto cars. It works while driving as well. I'll post a detailed guide in a new thread since it applies to all Android Auto vehicles.

Thanks, the service center ran the obd scanner and it showed DPF issue. However, the sooth percentage was down to 27% already. Maybe I should have given it some more time to see if the alert automatically disappeared. It seems the regeneration happens at 2 phases, if at the 2nd phase then the engine light has to be cleared at service center. They also cleaned the dpf sensors with some spray since my vehicle had run around 6.5km.

Yeah it would've disappeared automatically after a day or two but it would definitely give a scare to any owner. I've had my fair share of scares on my CLA200d which gave this Engine Warning Light occasionally due to DPF.

This usually happens either due to Low Quality Diesel or Extremely Low Fuel Level before refuelling, thats when any particulates in the fuel gets sucked in from the bottom of the fuel tank.

Accessories -

1) Has anyone got puddle lamp installed in their Hector. Actually there is wireless puddle lamp accessory available for MG Astor so maybe that could be used in any vehicle.

2) Also, how is the quality of magnetic window shades from MG or would it be better to go for roller curtain from outside.

3) What accessories will you recommend to go for.

Insurance

The price of MG insurance is higher as compared to other providers like Acko. Is there any particular benifits available in MG insurance to justify its price.

Any other details to pay attention to while taking vehicle delivery.

Congrats on getting your new Hector! Regarding accessories, I've opted for the Sun Shades from MG, they're not magnetic per se, there are holders that will be attached to the window frame to hold it in place.

I am getting a quote from TATA AIG that is around 44000 with all add-ons and dealer quotes are around 85000-90000. They are saying that MG has partnership with only 5 companies (Bajaj, ICICI, Reliance, Godigit and new India) and there will be no cashless facility with other companies.

But, Tata AIG, United India are saying that they have cashless tie ups with MG. So, really confused with this.

I will appreciate any help on this insurance situation.
