Volkswagen has announced the launch of the Tiguan Exclusive Edition in India. The SUV has been priced at Rs. 33.49 lakh (ex-showroom).



The Tiguan Exclusive Edition comes with 18-inch Sebring Sterling Silver alloy wheels, special exterior badges, load sill protectors, aluminium pedals and dynamic hubcaps.



Inside, the SUV gets an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with gesture control, illuminated scuff plates, Vienna leather seats, a soft touch dashboard, ambient lighting, 3-zone automatic climate control, and a panoramic sunroof.



The Tiguan Exclusive Edition is powered by the same 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine as the standard model. It produces 187 BHP @ 4,200-6,000 rpm and 320 Nm @ 1,500-4,100 rpm and is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and VW’s 4Motion all-wheel drive system.



The Tiguan Exclusive Edition is available in two exterior colour options – Pure White and Oryx White.

Wasn't there a waiting for the Tiguan as it is?
Ideally should prioritize delivery for those, unless this is VW's way of trying to make a few bucks extra by launching a special edition to capitalize on the delivery times.

That being said, the new alloys do look good!

A friend of mine picked up a Black Tiguan recently, because his XUV700 AWD was delayed, but the alloys look so damn boring on it! At least they updated the alloys on this Exclusive Edition.

Honestly VW India should consider launching some R-Line variants in India as well...

So the only substantial change are the alloys. Though hate the color choices !
Price wise it's the same as the current trim as well I think.
VW probably has a lot of white unsold Tiguans which arnt selling because of the color.

Though its a great car with equally splendid specs, I somehow didn't find it VFM product. Compare it with Octavia L&K (price diff of approx. 4 lakhs), Octi has all the bells and whistles and much more (barring sun roof).

It could have been much sweeter deal with price ranging between 26-30 lakh range with multiple variants on offer.

Having said, I always find Tiguan to be the sophisticated SUV with a royal stance. I hope we see few more variations with customer friendly price tags in future.

Always thought that VW should launch this with an intelligent 4WD system, not an always on 4WD, that would have increased the efficiency and possibly more buyers who want more bang between pumps.

You might be spot on, I was offered a weeks wait time if I booked the White or Black Tiguan a month ago : )

As far as I am aware the AWD is only active in the first two gears, as per sales person who explained the car to me.

Would love to see a ~240 bhp tune. I did feel the regular Tiguan a little sluggish off the line compared to the Octavia and some more ponies would make it perfect.

Those alloys are gorgeous. If in the market, I would have even paid a lakh more than standard version only for those alloys. The normal variant has boring alloys. Also the aluminium pedals are a good addition too.
