One wise man once told, “I only make right decisions and the others are pure lessons only”. Considering the fact that it’s a Hyundai and petrol vehicle, let it idle in your garage, take her out on long weekends for some nice holiday outings, travel to a distant relatives wedding on this car to the far corners of the country, but don’t sell this gem from Hyundai!
Don’t know your family size, but considering the fact that you indeed bought this big car, you must be having decent numbers in your family to laden the car to its hilt. Hence, hold and enjoy:loveit
Looks like the OP lives in Bangalore and doesn't need to use the car too frequently. That being the case, hiring part time drivers through apps like DriveU will likely work out cheaper. Selling a brand new car like this seems like a terrible mistake. However, if there are genuine health reasons to get an automatic then there are no two ways about it -- sell.

Second that! I am planning to upgrade my 2019 Diesel Vitara Brezza and getting really good offers to the tune of 9 lakhs from Spinny, cars24(it has around 49,000 on the ODO) Since your car is as good as a brand new one- the depreciation will not be that much. It's better to sell it sooner and get an automatic.
Hey, no worries. You will get a very good price for this Alcazar. Please don't sell in haste, until you find a good price but do not wait for too long either. It would have been good to make this call a couple of months earlier as the Year of Manufacture would have been the same for the new buyer and it would have made a good difference in the price. It's a new Hyundai with low mileage and you should get a price within 2-3 lakhs less than your OTR. There are quite a few options for you to buy a good automatic in that range that suits your needs. This time, make the right choice and consider all factors that could change for you, like the current work-from-home arrangement.
In all matters of money regarding non-essential (ahem!) purchases like cars, think a lot before you make a decision. But once you make the decision, forget everything about the money. Do not look back to analyze, cross-analyze, or compare on the economics. Forget about the money and save yourself some mental peace.
You will need to keep driving it at least once a week, else the car will suffer. At the same time you can post the Ad and evaluate the offers, let the Ad be there for a couple of months, you might get a very good offer also. The selling price now will not be affected by whether you drive this or not but better to drive it a minimum to keep it in driving condition and finish the mandatory first service.
Hi Darshan,
What's in the past cannot be undone and in my opinion, Alcazar is a very practical car with lots of features to offer in that price bracket. Moreover one gets to enjoy a bigger boot if you are considering any C-SUV in exchange [ 3rd Row Folded ].
But just in case you had made up your mind to let it go, then I would suggest to hurry up as it is rumored that Alcazar Petrol Powertrain will go under a major update in Q1'23 owing to RDE Norms accompanied by substantial price increase; It may have a detrimental impact on the depreciation of the older powertrain. Also, there have been very less takers of Petrol Manual Combination.
All The Best !!
If I were you, I would lease out the car and make money. On the side buy another car, say a Kia Sonet etc with an auto transmission and pay the EMI with the profits of the Alcazar.
Stating the obvious that there are risks and might be time-consuming to follow up with leasing issues, maintenance etc but this is what I would do (already did once in my life and don't regret it). I had bought a BMW 520i and leased out my Honda CRV and in the end, when I sold off the CRV I was impressed by how much I had saved.
Disclaimer:- this was not in India.

Can you please let me know if it’s a diesel or petrol. Searched the thread, but couldn’t find the relevant info.
If it’s a diesel, I might be interested in buying. :)
If you LOVE driving this Alcazar, don't sell.
If you ENJOY driving this Alcazar, don't sell.
I guess it's a petrol. Nothing happens to a petrol car if it is not driven much during the initial years. You do not know what is going to happen after 1-2 years. In 2 years you may need this car for your daily office commute. Meanwhile, utilize the weekends or long weekends and go for a long drive, trip to nearby destinations in the Alcazar.
Slowly, the bonding with Alcazar will get stronger.
If you can manage a second garage, buy an Ignis/ Celerio AMT for her daily commute to office. Good discounts are going on now.

No way you will get 25% depreciation. The people claiming such a depreciation are living by the book. Bengaluru has been historically notorious for huge resale values, and now a days even normal used cars are being sold at a premium. I would say sell the vehicle and take a small loss, and move on to an acceptable vehicle.
Selling the car should not be a problem with pre-owned cars commanding good price bracket in present times. Alcazar Diesel is quite practical and economical car and should fetch you good value.
I went from Honda Jazz CVT to Alcazar diesel manual within last month. If anything, it's much better to drive on usual Bangalore roads and high speed breakers. Now I don't have to stress out on scraping underbody on each speed breaker. Suggest you go for high GC automatic vehicle. The commanding view enables easy stress free drive even for your better half. One size small auto cars may seem small, but driving effort is still same.
Step 1: Finalise a car to suit your requirements and take joint test drives before you finalise
Step 2: Get existing car evaluated to understand difference you will need to 'correct' your course of vehicle ownership
Step 3: Evaluate again before committing to change.
Step 4: Try matchup of evaluated price with new car dealer. Point is you need the vehicle till new one arrives
Step 5: Execute transactions as finally arrived at.
Step 6: Enjoy ownership of new vehicle.
Wish you success.
Buying a costly car is generally considered to be a liability. Weather you like the car or you dont .
In your case you have a liability which you dont enjoy - reasons why you dont like are irrelevant - you don't like the car sell it off .
The main importance of money is that it can buy happiness- that money which can't buy happiness is useless.
I might be coming off a bit rude here, and that is not my intention at all. If your wife is open to it and is interested, you could arrange a few classes to get her comfortable with the manual? I think its a path worth exploring if you really want to keep the car.
If she's still not into it, then consider selling and getting something both of you can drive. Goodluck!
