Push for much more discounts. Also the BH RTO charges are much high. I paid INR 82000 for the same ex showroom.

Our March-2014 Camry Hybrid is doing great, the hybrid battery is getting replaced as we speak. This is an expense one must be prepared when owning the hybrid powertrain for many years and it's going to cost us around Rs 3L. I am happy to pay this price, not because hybrid saves me fuel costs but it offers exceptionally smooth driving experience in city traffic - smooth like an electric car without the hassle of charging anxiety. Everyone in the family loves Camry.

If your usage is mainly on the highways, I would probably go for a German sedan. Their suspension, NVH, overall build, safety, power delivery and dynamics come to the fore as the speeds go beyond 80 kmph. I'm sure you would know this as a Skoda Superb owner.

Would I buy the current generation near the end of its lifecycle? I have no desire to be seen in the latest-and-greatest model, I keep my cars till they fall apart so resale is never a consideration. If I see a better value in the newer model, I would go for it but that rarely happens unless there is a major technological breakthrough, addition of important creature comforts or design language upgrade. Some examples are introduction of hybrid/electric powertrain, adaptive suspension, 6+ airbags, ventilated seats, Volvo/Lexus radical exterior design revamp, etc. I wouldn't pay more for a larger screen, newer LED lights and other incremental updates. If I am getting the current model for 20%+ less and the next model is just an incremental updates that I won't miss, I would buy the current model. A lot of new launches fall in this category. I am 100% not going to regret my purchase when I see the newer model parked next to my older model. Given my typical 10-15+ years of ownership, driving an outdated model is not an issue for me.
Thanks for the detailed response. I'm not very particular about getting the latest model either, rather get a discount on the outgoing one.

BTW i do not have a Superb. But I agree with the point you are making about German quality.

Based on what I have been told by dealers across different states, these offers are consistent across India since they are controlled by Mercedes-Benz India directly.
For 300, looks like the discount has been raised to 3 lacs. Got a quote of 71.95 lacs ex-showroom. Same corporate discount and free insurance on top.

The outgoing E class is also available for a 6 lacs discount.

Hi guys, has anyone looked into the Lexus RX before? Or heard of any discounts? The dealership is giving the standard ‘we don’t offer discounts’ statement considering these vehicles are imported after the order is placed.

Re: The "New Luxury Car" Price Check Thread | Track Discounts, Offers & Deals on Audi, BMW, Mercedes

Took a short test drive of the new 5 series. It's good, but only a slight upgrade from 3GL series. Panoramic roof looks good but does not open. Front seats are good, new lights and steering are good. 360 camera was awesome. Backseat has good space and has space for charging.

Negatives:

- Rear seat is not adjustable
- No entertainment package at the rear (31" TV 4K/HD TV available on international models)
- No Boss seats
- No rear window blinders
- No rear seat ventilation
- No air suspension
- No power upgrade from the 3 GL series

Somehow the interior colour combination of copper and grey does not excite me. This LWB 5 series car was meant to be for chauffeur-driven customers. It fails to pamper them. The only things that works is the price. A good 20 lakhs more than the 3GL, but does it deliver the badge value of the 5 series, I doubt.

Re: The "New Luxury Car" Price Check Thread | Track Discounts, Offers & Deals on Audi, BMW, Mercedes

Hey guys I'm finalizing the MB EQE. The current offer is almost 15L off (10L + 1.5L for professionals + free insurance). I'm also opting for the 3 yr buyback plan; the value I'm being given for the buyback is 68%.

Has anyone on here bought an EQE recently? Also, are MB's buyback values truly non negotiable or is that just sales talk?

I also wanted to share some really good offers I came across during this search:
  • 17-20L (depending on MY) + 1.5L for professionals+ free insurance on the MB EQS with upto a 64% buyback value after 3 yrs
  • 25L off on the Audit Q8 etron
  • 2.5L + 1.5L + free insurance on the MB GLC with upto a 64% buyback value after 5 yrs
  • 6L + 1.5L + free insurance on the MB Eclass with upto a 62% buyback value after 5 yrs

took a TD of the Q3 today. Audi dealers in NCR are offering upfront discounts of above 10L on the Premium Plus variant. A bit of negotiations increases this. What's a realistic deal I can expect. OTR list price is 56- I am looking at 40. Doable?

Might be a good time to get a deal before 1st Aug if someone is sitting with a few quotes but waiting for the perfect time.
I have booked 330li M sport Pro and was offered final price of 67 on road(Maharashtra Registration)after discounts and negotiations
Is this a good deal?

I was offered 64.5 on HR registration. Considering the road tax difference and the fact that this was their first quote without any negotiations on insurance and other charges, I would think there's room for more negotiations on your part.
